the only phonebook you can use is mobilephone_pc which is loaded as a custom list. If you then make the custom list item selected the text in mobilephone_dialbox you have what your after.
Ok, that's great.
eh? what about dialing a phonebook number or for that fact any from the calls lists?

I've been testing 1.1.13 and all is well except for 2 items.
1. mobilecall.skin keeps popping back up if I leave that skin during a call. I use mobilecall.skin to simply answer or ignore the call and then generally return the previous skin. Once the call is over, I briefly switch to my mobilephone.skin to hangup.
2. I am not getting either battery or signal strength percentages. My phone is a Sprint Touch-Pro. I do get the carrier name and my phone number. These are the only informational items I use.
Other then that I have a "first call" audio issue that goes away on all subsequent calls (in or out). Basically on the first call the audio is garbled. I admit I am using a $3.00 dongle but BT claims it supports it
Any recommendations as to a "production" dongle.

Jim
I'm using a HTC phone as well and also don't get battery or signal strength.
I don't really understand the first issue that your having I'm afraid.
Wolvers,
I'm having a problem similar to the bug that was fixed in 1.1.13.
When a call comes in mobilecall.skin is displayed. On it I can either answer the call or hangup(ignore) the call and it automatically goes to my voicemail.
If I answer the call, mobilecall.skin remains until I leave it. For example I return to the previous skin that was being displayed when the call originally came in.
If I do return to the previous skin via EXIT for example, after a couple of seconds, mobilecall.skin displays again. This cycle will continue until I end the call.
As I said, if I could get back to the previous skin without mobilecall.skin re-displaying, I invoke mobilephone.skin to end the active call.
In otherwords, I don't want to have mobilecall.skin to be displayed during the duration of the call.
BTW, for the couple of seconds that I am on the previous skin, the calll continues.
I realize this may either be another manifestation of the 1.1.12 "bug" or it may be a feature request. I'll leave that up to the author.
Regards,
Jim
That sounds like a feature request, but to me it seems an obscure one. What do you want to be doing while you're in a call?
Lambo, just been trying the new version. DTMF is working great. I'm going to start work on adding the following to my Simplistique mobilephone skin;
1. A button for mobilephone_transaudio. I've yet to try this feature and while it's not something I'm likely to use I can see it's usefulness to others.
2. Up and down buttons for selecting numbers from the phonebook. I've found through my own testing that it can be difficult on a 7" screen to select the contact I want by pressing on it.
3. A digital clock readout.
4. The correct fonts for this skin that I forgot to include previously.
Are you any closer to adding the edit function for phonebook entries? It would be useful to be able to add names to entered numbers without getting the keyboard out and navigating to the phonebook file.
Actually I want my RR based system to behave just like the manufacturer's system on my other car does.
When a call comes in, a voice announcement occurs and a pop-up appear with the requsite indicative information and requesting action (answer or ignore) on the call.
On Ignore, the call goes to voicemail and the pop-up disappears.
On Answer, the call is answered and the pop-up disappears.
This way I can still see my Nav skin and get driving instructions while talking.
To do this on my RR-based system, I manage both Pausing and speaker priority (Nav, Phone) with Nav having higher priority than the phone
When I am on a call, a special button appears on all skins by which I can hangup.
So the feature request if that is what it is is to not have mobilephone.net impose a skin behavior (mobilecall.skin) other than the initial appearance.
BTW, on an outbound call, I currently do just what I described.

Jim
Ok, I have been working on this and reading posts for a few days now. I tried searching the 30 some pages here but the forum just gives me an error about my token.. I'm kind of a newb here so go easy on me .. but I tried following the instructions here and in all the installers associated with this plugin, and I'm having a problem. Basically I can't get the mobilephone.skin to load in Ride Runner. It looks like the installer for this plugin expected the skin name to be Carwings_dynamic but my RR default skin seems to be Carwings_Dynamic_lite. I say this because after the install completed the carwings_dynamic folder was created, it wasn't there before.
ANYWAY the point here is, I tried following the instructions in the popup to add a button to my carwings and I added the "LOAD:mobilephone.skin" line and all it does when I click that button is it speaks the command so I hear it say "Load mobile fo e nee dot skin" ... Any ideas?
You, or the author of your skin, would have to add this button to every page. I don't think that could be added by Lambo, just the option to close the mobilecall.skin after answering a call. Maybe he can add an option for that in the .ini?
It sounds like you haven't copied the Carwings skin files, for mobilephone.net, into your Carwings skin folder?
I think I did, it was in the other folder (Carwings_dynamic) so I copied it all over, it was basically just the mobilephone.skin and a bunch of jpg images. Is this right?
