i bit the bullet and installed windows 7 alongside of xp on my carputer. by default the digital audio device was the first alphabetical device. i renamed my mic so that it was the first alphabetical recording device by renaming it from "microphone" to "analog microphone". i installed bluesoleil and what do you know...it works. so the problem is definitely that bluesoleil only uses the first alphabetical recording device and for now there seems to be no way to change it. in xp i have been unable to find a way to rename audio devices so for now the only solution for those of us who's mic's do not work with bluesoleil is to use windows 7 or vista instead of xp. on the plus side, windows 7 gives me hybrid sleep and individual volume control for each program. the only negative so far is that the start button does not get hidden by rr. more configuring and testing to come.
Tical84, any luck getting it to work without cphonetool? I am experiencing the same with a Blackberry 8820
did you end up resolving the handsfree echo problem? I have the same problem and have the andreas stereo mike, I am hoping that has some noise cancellation feature i can use
the soho is a passthrough card that only uses the pci slot for power. over in the centrafuse forums, someone figured out how to use the card externally by soldering a 5v and ground wire to the card so that laptop users or those limited by space can use it.
I sent Bluesoleil a detailed inquiry about not being able to select device inputs. After a week a I get this "So much sorry you have problem. Blue Soleil has just been updated, so upgrade please". Upgrade didn't do a thing to solve our problem. Maybe if enough people get on them.
the sdk has got input and output wave devices. I'm testing a version now which will allow you to set both from the ini file.....I hope. It will mean an upgrade to the latest bluesoliel but that shouldn't be a problem as the upgrades are free if you purchased a legal copy.
hey guys i got it working well thanks for all your comments/help. I think I can get it working without cphonetool, they key was to not open the bluesoiel main window at the same time ride runner was open. I guess both programs dont share the bluetooth resource nicely (seems quite simple in hindsight). Also the latest version of BS (.299) has additional support for blackberry and iphone so its better now.
the only ride runner problem I have now is occasionally the when mobilecall.skin comes up when i receive a call, the answer or drop call buttons on mobilecall.skin wont work and the debug log shows this...
PM:Info : Phonebook functionality not part of current SDK
anyone experience this before?
I still have the echo problem... will need to continue to hit mute constantly in the meantime. i am thinking about going with this solution:
and then use VAC
