well with two of you saying its happening its sounds like a problem. Can you send a screen shot so i can see it and a copy of your rr debug log and your mobilephone debug log.
Also are you using the bmv2 skin to try it first?
Humm... I installed the Mobile Phone plugin. I choose the RR Directory and the Skin Directory and it says everything was copied correctly. I checked the menu.skin of the files and it added x,mobilephone to the skin along with changing button 09. However, when I open Ride Runner the skin is all messed up with incorrect sizes for buttons/entire skin, text is in the incorrect place and most of the skin unusable. I'm not sure what happend but I tried this on both the Carwings skin and DFX 4.0 and it messed both of them up. I can't even pick the mobile phone button in order to run a debug.txt... any ideas?
I did this by running the installer but maybe I should just copy the files to the correct path and add/edit buttons myself... thoughts?

Lambo, I copied the appropriate files to the DFX4.0 skin and when asked to replace the old "menu.skin" (which was 3.75 kb or something) with the new "Menu.skin" (1.74 kb) I said no. Everything else copied into place on the skin file and I made sure the Mobile Phone folder was in place in the RR directory (with appropriate files). I then used the DFX button editor and changed the PHOCO to "Load;mobilephone.skin" and added the "x,mobilephone" to the menu.skin. This works and the skin loads as your screen shots.
I think the problem is that the installer replaces your "menu.skin" to configure the button 9 and add x,mobilephone. On both the skins I was trying they use the button editor so I think changing button 9 messed things up.
so just to be clear you have it working now?
This is always the problem with skins. You need to know what your doing to make it work. If its working for you can you post the exact steps you used so others can follow.
I wouldnt' say I know what I'm doing but I know enough to be dangerous
As far as I can tell it is working. Skin loads and buttons press as they should. However; I don't believe I have a supported phone. Strange, the Blue Soleil Dialer works for my phone... does that mean your "wrapper" would work? I'm using a Moto Q.
OK, I reloaded everything and did the installer again to show you what I was getting.
Here is the screen shot of what it does to RR... this is the main screen. The menu looks nothing like I had setup before and the size/etc is messed up.
Attached is the Debug
I see that the .dll says most like not registered... I did register it but I will redo the process as others have stated.
had a look at the debug and I think you need to do the following (from the troubleshooting).
Solution 2: You can attempt to register the DLL manually by opening and command prompt and changing directory to ; %WindowsFolder%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 then running the command ; Regasm "%PathofRoadRunner%\MobilePhone.dll" /tlb:MobilePhone.tlb /codebase (Include the quotes around the Roadrunner\MobilePhone.dll part)
Note the /codebase. I found some mention to it in Guino's .net plugin example and found I needed to use it on my car pc.
@SLIVER23:
It looks like your menu.skin got overwritten. The same thing happened to me the first time I tried the plugin. Do you have a backup of your menu.skin you could replace it with?
MSI K9N6GM
1 gig RAM
8" Lilliput
Onstar GPS mod
XM
Visteon HDZ300
Yeah, I always back up my menu. As I said before I think the installer overwrites your menu.skin with a new one or modifies it too much for some. I was able to get it working by copying the files and manually making the buttons (no big deal).
Registering the .dll as Lambo described gets the plugin working (nice work).
I was hoping this one would work but I guess not for my phone. I don't understand why the Bluesoleil Dialer works great for my phone but no plugins for RR work for the Moto Q![]()
lambo, nothing should need to be done to menu.skin if you're placing the plugin in RR's Plugins folder. It appears that there's a bug in the installer when adding the x, line but that line isnt neccessary with new rr versions.
