Thread: Foobar2000 Player Plugin

There's no mute control/indication for foobar or any other player. The MUTE function is only for the MIXER (sound card), that's why I told you to set that line in RR.INI ... MUTE means KEEP your current volume but prevent any audio output, if you want the indication to go to 0% while muted, you'd not be really muting, but changing the volume itself.

You can either configure your soundcard/mixer in RR (so the mute works by muting the sound card -- NOT the player) or you remap the mute button to switch the volume of the player to 0 and then back -- this can be done using SETVOL and variables to would "mimic" a mute effect, but is not really the same thing as a real mute function doesn't change volumes and this would..

So. I want to switch to using foobar2000 but I have a problem.

I use the Winamp line-in plugin for my radio to input from the line-in on the motherboard and output to my USB sound card. However, it looks like when fb2k moved from 0.8 to 0.9, there's no longer a record addon (eg foo_record).

Does anyone know of any solution that would allow me to convert while still using my current radio setup?

You could try loading winamp with the line in plugin just when starting the radio, then close it when exiting the radio screen -- it's not going to be the same thing, but it's one way. I have to research viable options for that. Right now, if you need the a "line in plugin" of sorts, the only supported solution is winamp. You may also try this out: http://www.r1ch.net/stuff/foobar/ and continue using winamp's line-in plugin with foobar -- I honestly have not tried it myself.

EDIT: nevermind, that doesn't work with input plugins.

hey guino im starting on riderunner since 1 week so sorry if im speaking ****...


Im currently using your foobar200 plugin everything is fine..

So i got to another step embedding coverjuke on rr.

Coverjuke use Foobar as external audio player.. Ok it run fine..

BUT the plugin or my skin(dunno, using Elite Lite) do not get the info of the music of the foobar2000.. just the time aparently...

PS: the music plays normal , just the LENGHT of the music is correct..

So i think ur plugin is gettin the music information (name, genre etc) from the RR not of the player right ?

If u can help me with this issue i apreciated..

1-Can you post a screen shot of the labels that are not showing ?

2-Can you switch to Winamp just to see if the labels show up ?

3-Can you switch to a different skin to see if it works right or has the same issue ?

If the track time is working, then everything else should work too, so it is a bit puzzling why this could happen...

OK, I've figured out a way to record/play a stream from line-in using SoX. Once I figure out how to integrate it into a skin, I'll post a little blurb.

sorry my fault. that problem is with coverjuke my skin do not "reload" all information of the music.. Same happen with winamp..

So not a problem with the plugin. sorry.

I did some research and i need to do something about the "RELOAD" comand on RR..

I installed riderunner with foobar and everything works perfectly.
I have a usb sound card (TerraTec dmx6fire usb) but the volume does not work with riderunner.

The volume in foobar works perfectly....

I installed latest foobar 0.9.6.8 and Com server but no luck to have it working with RR (tested with July version). It works fine standalone.
Running guino's test application it gives me a file not found error but when I check the player's path in rrini file it is correct!
Tried also reinstalling foobar (either in portable or in normal mode) but same error.
