I'm asking this because I have switched off some of the messages in the GPS receiver to allow the GPS location to be updated twice a second. This makes the NAV updates smoother.
Nope. I'm reading GPSLAT and GPSLON right from RR

Any type of format you are expecting. If I see my GPSLON and GPSLAT then there is a comma in the format. Should this be a period?

Yes, that would cause a problem.

try changing the comma format in regional settings to confirm.

Sorry if this is a slight bit OT, but I am curious What GPS Puck and software are you using? I am thinking it would be nice to have it update the GPS twice a second, as it would definitely seem to make the updating on the screen faster for sure.

Is this a special utility for your GPS puck or something? I am using a BU-353 with iGuidace currently.

Also OT, but from my knowledge of what i have read, GPS at our level (civilians) is basically restricted in both data frequency updates and its preciseness.

Course if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me....

The frequency of the updates can be higher if the receiver has enough CPU power to calculate the position from the information if receives from the satelites it is tracking. There is however also the limitation if the information the GPS receiver can send over the COM port at 4800 baud. By removing some of the NMEA messages that the receiver communicates it is able to send position messages up to 4 times per second. Setting the messages to be send out to the computer is done using a proprietary piece of software I received with my receiver. This is a cheap GPS receiver I bought from ebay. If have set the regional setting of my XP install to use a periode as the decimal seperator. But still no joy. I can see the GPSLON and GPSLAT getting updated but the different labels from RRVM does not.

What setting could prevent the plugin from calculating the traveled distance? Is it only using GPSLON and GPSLAT?

Sorry to bump this thread but despite all the things I have done to fix the problem, the distance when driving still does not get calculated. This makes the plugin not so much fun when it would.

As I can see my GPS location in my NAV screen get updates (There are RR labels) I know the GPS receiver is working with RR. Why is the plugin not using the information? I can see in the Maintainance Tracker.ini that the TotalDistance gets updated but this are numbers way after the period (e.g. TotalDistance=221010.005511055) The 221010 (kilometers) I entered when I did a Add Fuel. The .005511055 has been added while driving.

    Using the 10/30/2009 version.

First, upon RR startup, I get this error msg. I have unreg/re-reg the plugin and still ocurrs. Notice the path: "..\Lang..\English.ini\..." Partically the bold part.

Next, I know that the fuel screen is only supposed to list the last 20 entries, which it actually lists the last 21 entries. But, upon entering the next fill up, when you get to the last entery point ( # of Gal ), it will not continue no matter how many times you rap on the 'Enter' button, the only way out it to cancel it.

Along with this, I have noticed that as soon as you have more than 22 lines in the fuel log.ini file, that the fuel log list never get the entries added. It stays empty.

Also, after you first go into the fuel screen, you must load the file, but never release it and changes can be made until user closes RR. Minor, but really should only have the file open for the reading only.
