Wow this sounds amazing! DeJeVu! I think I just posted that in the RRFusion thread as well! Wow you have put a LOT of work into these recently!
You mention a "Pro" version... I see no reference to it in the thread, just quickly scanning it. Will it be a paid version with all of the new features? If so, I will one of the first in line to purchase it!
Now that RRFusion has seen its overhaul its time to tackle RRVM again. It too will be receiving a large amount of cleanup and code optimization on top new features that have been previously discussed. A main priority of mine is to convert the settings data out of .ini formatting and into xml as its easiest for me to work with and results in less overhead. With that will come a "settings screen" capability similar to the one found in the latest RRFusion. All of your RRVM settings will be able to be configured from within RR.
1 feature that hasnt been discussed that's currently being looked at is the addition of a vehicle tracker. The pro version of RRVM will allow tracking your car from a server. The server can be my (soon to be) website, or your own personal server. It will have offline support (file saved locally until internet detected), and whatever gifts fall along the way.
RRVM will now get my full focus now that RRFusion is out and i hope to have a new version very soon.
I need 2-3 testers for the current build of rrvm. I prefer the testers have used the 8/2010 version and have fuel log, history, and maintenance tracker already in .xml form. If interested please pm me.
The purpose of this test is the import of the user settings data from maintenance tracker.ini to a new rrvehiclemaintenance_settings.xml file. The new version of RRVM will do away with the maintenance tracker.ini entirely, and i have a function i created to import then delete that now obsolete file.
Sooner we get past this little part the sooner i can move on to the add-ons
Client side of the built-in GPS Tracker is done. Server side is about half way there. I need to figure how to send a HTTP response from my php page so that i can notify the plugin of the time/date the upload was completed and delete the offline log file. Anyone care to guide me on the matter? lol
Either way i was very excited when these database entries started popping up!
GPS Tracking was tested on my ride home from work and works just as it should. Also tested all of the core components and everything is working well. The question is, should i release the free version knowing that some of the "Pro" features arent done (OBD, server side GPSTracker, and log sync).
Been running it for the past few days, and it works great! Thumbs up Sonic!
