Thread: MP3Art Plugin - UPDATED 11-17-2010

WMP 12 saves it in the file. I know that because I was using it do get the album art for all of my mp3s because it's so easy then when I was done and it wouldn't work with the regular command in RR, I went into the folder to find out why and there were no images there. Then I opened an mp3 in WMP and it shows the art in the background. Unless maybe it saves them all into some random folder and just links it somehow...

The files it used to save were HIDDEN, so I'd advise checking the files with a tag application. I'll try it myself to check and let you know.

EDIT: I just verified it and like previous WMP versions it saves album art files as hidden files in the same folder of the song -- it does NOT embed the art in the file itself. It does however appear to cache in the images other than just in the files it saves (Probably in some database organized by filename). You can also double check it by opening winamp and check the file's properties to see if there's an embedded album art.

TRY latest RR, and use the CARWINGS_DYNAMIC_LITE skin as a test

and ps there is no need to mess with regsvr32, the installer is there for that

Thank you for the quick response. I have the latest RR and this happens with the default Carwings and the Elite skin that downloaded. It works intermittently though which is the weird part. Sometimes it shows fine and then sometimes it doesn't. I have tried the same albums so i know it worked at least couple times

i use http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ for all my artwork embedding needs

Is there a way to unhide them? I tried show all files and folders but that wasn't good enough it seems.
EDIT: Nevermind, after some Googling I also had to uncheck "Hide protected OS files".

I downloaded the program from Mitch's post and went through to see which MP3s actually had it embedded and sure enough the ones I was testing did not so I went back into RR and played the ones that did and it seemed to work no problem.
