RRVoiceConfig is currently setup to read the music structure as:
Artist > Album > Song... Most? people have it this way...
Take out the genre and move them all up one...
I believe RMDatabase lets you sort them by genre anyways...
With RRVoice, while you are driving, it is better to keep the command structure simple.
RRVoiceConfig will be getting updated soon, I want it to be more versatile in finding your music...

That's not going to work for various reasons. No big deal; I can wait.

Now that I've been using RRVoice a bit, it seems like the potential is unlimited. I wonder if it would be possible to enter text with this? So, for example, any time there is an OSK or a text box one could simply say the words and it would enter the text. Perhaps one of the other mouse buttons could be programmed in MouseTrap to tell RR that there is text coming rather than a RR command. How cool would that be? I don't know anything about programming, so have no idea if this is feasible, however.

It should be possible from what I know of the way the plugin is written. It is a matter of putting the voice recognition into dictation mode, versus reading from a dictionary file.

Be forewarned though, that the accuracy goes way down. With dictation it has basically the entire English language to try to match up with what it thought that you said.

For a dictation real world example, go to the Skype screen in the DFX5 beta (Being you are a beta tester ), and click the TTS button at the top. Hit the "Start Recording", speak some text, and then press "Stop Recording" and have a look at the text, and what it thought that you said. It is decent, but far from perfect in most cases. Toss in some engine, road & wind noise, and the accuracy will go down drastically.

This is not so much the case with RRVoice, as there are only around 100 commands set up in DFX5, that are multiple words each. This increases the accuracy 1000% over dictation.

I went to the Skype and I can't get it to hear anything. Not sure why.

Anyway, what about just letters and numbers? Are they easily recognized? It's a heck of a lot easier and safer to verbally spell words rather than typing them out on the OSK.

Also, I use Google a lot while in the car. When speaking words or phrases the "Did you mean?" feature of Google could make the inevitable errors less relevant.

By the way, thanks a lot, John, for getting me hooked on this. It was sunny and 75 degrees today in Virginia and I was supposed to spend the day fixing fence boards for Wifey's horses. Instead, I played with RRVoice all day. Wifey is not pleased!

I think that this actual setup is the good !

Okay, I changed the config to show that my music folder is D:\rock (since that's where most of the music is anyway) and then rescanned. I can now say "Play Artist The Beatles" and it will load all of my Beatles songs. The problem is that none of the songs will play even though they show up in the playlist. RR jumps through the list much as it does if you have loaded a playlist where the mp3 files for the songs in the playlist are no longer present. Clicking the songs in the playlist does not get them to play. Any idea what's going on?

Also, perhaps related, is that most of my songs have numbers at the beginning of their names. So it would be 01-Come Together, 02-Something, 03-Maxwell's Silver Hammer and so on. Is that a problem?

Yes, that is a problem. When I started going thru my collection last time, I started doing that as well to the song files... Track - Song Title. So, I sorta have same for some of them.
