Well I have managed to get somewhere now.
Found settings in rr.ini.
But instead of using text for all of them as in the last version, we are now using numbers for a couple of them in the new one.
Still not getting the onconnected notification though. Which is all I really want to test, so I can add it's detection to RRUpd8. As I am happy using the old one. (Which works fine for me)
yes i changed the way settings are managed, using numbers is more skinner friendly, settings are simple variables, about the xp issue i wasnt able to test that much in xp, by the time i wrote this pi i move on to w7, and i remember seeing in msdn that the wifi api is limited in xp, some events are missing, i highly recommend to use w7, if you want and have the wiling to do more tests, i can go over the source and see if something can be done to fix those issues, about the settings sub, yes the sub on the pi is blank, i can add something but people uses different ways, to load a settings screen, load or menu cmd, thats why i decided to leave it blank and let the user do the rest.
I can't get to install this plugin properly in win xp sp3 with the current installer. I can't get it to register to be exact, so it won't show up on plugins list. On my home PC with win 7 64-bit it works fine, on my car PC with win 7 32-bit the same, but on this machine I can't make it work.
I get the following lines in debug txt:
26/10/2011 2:24:19 μμ: Plugin Manager: loading Global Plugins...
26/10/2011 2:24:19 μμ: Plugin Manager: Plugin Found: RRWifiMan_NET(.NET) plugin found but will be unable to create (most likely NOT registered)[skipped].
26/10/2011 2:24:19 μμ: Plugin Manager: Plugin Found: SkinTool
26/10/2011 2:24:19 μμ: Plugin Manager: Plugin loaded (Global): SkinTool
26/10/2011 2:24:19 μμ: Plugin Manager: Plugin Found: Weather
26/10/2011 2:24:19 μμ: Plugin Manager: Plugin loaded (Global): Weather
26/10/2011 2:24:19 μμ: Plugin Manager: loading Global Plugins Completed.
I have installed .NET framework up to 3.5 as well.
I also tried using regasm /codebase /tlb RRWifiMan_NET.dll after renaming the .tlb file but still no success.
Any idea what is going wrong?
PS: The whole debug.txt is here, starting from opening RR up to closing it.
this PI depends on wlanapi.dll, if you have XPsp3 most likely you do have it, unless for some reason is missing(nlite?) if you dont have issues with W7, means installer is ok, PI is ok. i know that if the OS is xp sp2, "KB918997" hotfix must be installed first.
Thanks for the assistance. It was some XP SP3 lite version, I don't remember which exactly. I did a format, installed proper XP SP3 and it installed as it should have been.
Thanks for the plugin!
Working fine so far on WinXP SP3 .Net3.5
As Enforcer has experienced, I am not seeing any WiFi events which are quite important to the work I am doing.
Do you have a plan to provide them? Or have the names been changed and I missed that doc change?
I'm using RR 11-1-2-11, Win 7 Pro 64Bit, Net 3.5.
enforcer was running xp, and this PI is recommended on W7 machines, it does work perfectly on vista as well.
documentation is up to date, as far as i remember carputer1 did some testing on a W7 64 setup, as of now, im in the middle of a big project, give me some days and i'll send you a revised version for testing.
Has anyone successfully modified DFX 5.1 to use wifiman so that we can connect without disabling the adapter? also, I've seen a wifiman v 2.0 mentioned in other threads. is that correct? If so where?
not trying to be rude, but this is a skin issue, not the PI, i have answared this before, the way you are describing the problem sounds like a wifiman_toggle commands is executed, instead of wifiman_connect, this PI has to be installed using the installer, if you havent you may want to get the latest version, by the way, not a single skin has permission to include this PI...
