DFXVoice – A Voice Control Plugin [v1.1.0.1 Released 09/23/2012]

Ok, for those of you beta testing the DFXVoice plugin, and using the DFX skin, you can run the auto updater in the skin, to get the new settings screen. For now you will have to create a button in the skin manually, to load the DFXVoice_settings.skin, or use the skin tool and put this in one of the command lines: load;DFXVoice_settings.skin

Notice Thread 1, and Thread 2 labels... Blue created the plugin as multi-threaded, thus it can scan your ID3 tags almost 2 times faster, significantly lowering the scan time. It scans all tags, and creates the database for 40,000 MP3's in around 18 minutes! With a previously released voice plugin I was using, it took almost an hour to scan 30,000 MP3's!

Again, this is beta and I'm working on sever things at once, the music scanner part of this plugin wasn't going to be worked on till everything else was in order, but if your read the first post you would have seen whats done and not done yet ;).

I have now started the dual threaded music scanner, did a huge chuck of it last nite and looking very promising! I'd say that probably in the next two weeks I'll be releasing a version with access to it.

Instead of having to add a button for the settings screen, just use plugin manager. create a method in your project as so..

With this, the settings button on the plugin manager screen will dynamically work with your settings skin.

Sonic, DUH! I forgot about that. He has that sub in the plugin, so yes, you can add "Plugin MGR" to the main menu buttons, go into it, select DFX voice in the list, and click the "Settings" button to get to it.

I'm sorry that I didn't praise this plugin before, but more I play with it, more I like it! After teaching Windows to understand my mumble, this really works very well.
Please Blue, try to fix audio_player screen issue.

i'm really impressed, because i changed all commands to german and dfxvoice recognizes them much better than my bad english ;) now i'm waiting for a release where i can change the music commands.

am i right when i say that the voice commands didn't work in the actual release, due the lack of a background scanner?

Yes, adding the music commands is something that Blue is currently working on, and making very good progress as well ;) The initial beta just has commands for switching screens, firing commands and such, but no music commands just yet... but hopefully soon...

Again, like with any music scanner, it will only work as good as how well your files are tagged. Get something like "Tag & Rename" (Has a 30 day free trial) and get your tags in order. I know, it's a pain, and people will wine that they have 10,000 songs to tag blah blah blah.... well I have close to 50,000 songs here, and every single tag, in each and every .mp3 is complete. A daunting task, but a good tagging program can make it fairly automatic.

John, dual thread scan will def make my scanning of my mp3 collection less of a chore, being that I have 50,000+ mp3s also.

I also been using "Tag & Rename" for a while now, and I must say that this is the best/easiest program to use in my opinion.

well, this is at least much more than centrafuse is able to do :D has blue build in a "expire date" to the plugin? i wondered yesterday, that RR shows a screen which says something like "beta blablabla". or have i messed something up with adding / removing commands? ;)

Yes, all beta builds have a one week expire date, once a final full release is made, that will be removed... its just to keep everyone using the more recent version.
