Thread: DFXVoice – A Voice Control Plugin [v1.1.0.1 Released 09/23/2012]

Some good news, I found someone at work that has a bt dongle that I can have, so if I can get it to work, I'll be able to test this moblephone crash issue. I'm going to shoot for tomorrow night for the next release.

That is good news.
I hope to be DFXVOICE stable version..

Update to the mobilephone plugin issue... I did manage to get a BT dongle and test in my W7 VM and i do get that same error that you both are talking about. I also did some research as to what that "Stackhash_xx" was, and it comes down to when windows doesn't know exactly where the error occurred, if one is to search for that "Stackhash Error windows 7" ( Goggle ) you will see that there are some other programs that also encounter the same err msg. Even running the plugin in the VS2010 IDE and every type of exception to be thrown, there is nothing that gets thrown when the err appears. You guys might want to see if the mobilephone PI author can find any conflict within its coding maybe, IDK.

BTW, what version of BlueSoliel are you running, I tried v6.4.249


Explanation of the issue...

The StackHash error occurs when DEP is invoked and has an issue with application you’re trying to run. The error is related to Data Execution Prevention.

Another snippet...

....., since many crashes are caused by an illegal memory operation. This is often related to a driver trying to execute an operation which is unadvisable in Windows. However, these operations DON’T EVEN ALWAYS result in crashes.

One posted solution(did NOT work for me here on my W7 VM)

1. Open the Start menu and click Control Panel
2. Browse to System Maintenance then System
3. In the left panel, select Advanced System Settings from the available links
4. You should now see the System Properties Window, which will have three sections. The top section is labeled Performance and has a Settings button. Click this button.
5. Select the Data Execution Prevention tab.
6. Select the option which reads Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
7. Use the Browse button to locate the executable file for the application you were trying to start (RideRunner.exe) when you received the StackHash error, and click Open to add it to your exceptions list.
8. Click Apply or OK to commit your changes.

If you do try this...pls report back and tell us if it worked for you.

Right now I have NO idea where to even try and start debuging this issue, so for now I am not going to worry about it (sorry IA) ATM and work on the getting the rest of this plugin fully operational. DFXVoice w/o the other plugin 99% of the time runs stable now, if anything it probably has something to do with the BT BlueSoleil stuff (very buggy stuff)

I am using BlueSoleil 8.0.370.0.

I have tried posted solution with no luck

Thought I'd post something... Really sorry about not having another release out yet!! I've lost just a bit of motivation for the moment, not sure how/why but I have. Hopefully I can work on it some more before this weekend and get something out. All the quietness around these here parts doesn't exactly help boost the motivation. Also, thanks to those that have donated!

I hear you on loss of motivation, since boating season ended I haven't touched RR or DFX5 or even played with DFXVoice yet, it's kind of been a nice break.

I just got a new rig and it needs an audio system, I think I have enough gear laying around to put something together (that will be 3 systems at once), so I'll probably be back on this next week, actually looking forward to integrating DFXVoice!

I'll be sure to post my ongoing efforts somewhere. And as always I can help test things out. I wish I could help more.

Perhaps just getting DFXVoice to a stable release point without all the bling, and then moving to another project for a while...
