But I got a little closer to getting it to work but don't know what I am missing.

Same here. I am unable to trigger DFXVoice to listen with Use RR Media DB turned on. I have tested multiple times, closing RR after each change of the setting.

If you get a chance try downloading microsoft expressions encoder sp1 from Microsoft and see if DFXVoice works. It did for me but don't know why :( See the video I posted above to see the results.

Will do. I did see the vid. Very helpful. Will download expressions and see what happens. Will not be able to do until tomorrow unfortunately.

I can confirm that installing Microsoft Expression solves the problem of not being able to trigger DFXVoice to listen if "Use RRMedia database" is selected. It does not solve the issue of Scan Music Collection not working.

Blue, am I correct that muting of music, etc., should occur when I trigger DFXVoice to listen? It is not muting for me.

Hmmm... That's kinda odd, I'm not using any part of that but I do have it installed here because RRPandora required it to use it, and maybe just having it installed when I compile the plugin, it uses the newer files from that which aren't in the STD .net install and causes crashes... I wonder if/how I could add that check to the installer.

The scan music collection is null of course if you have the Use RRMedia db option on, but I should add a check for that when someone has it on and tries to use that button. And if its off, it not working b/c it can't find the blank template music xml's it uses on scans, which is an installer issue. The files are not being put in the right places.

Correct, muting of current audio source is done by the plugin when triggered. PI debug Log?

Muting is working fine now.

Thanks, Blue. So you know I just installed everything onto a third computer (XPSP3, 09/01 RR, up to date DFX) and have the same issue (XML Editor throwing exception when I hit apply). I've messed around with it some more and found that it only happens on the Global and Screen Commands screen. I can go to any of the other screens, e.g., the music scanner screen, and all works fine.

What you did is OK only if say the only skin your running is DFX.
