Ok, I understand now. I saw that same file in C:\Users\Puter1\Documents\RideRunner\Plugins\DFXVo ice\ and assumed it must of went there but couldn't understand why the installer wouldn't of put the right one there :)

Not sure if you had a chance to look at anything yet but I did more playing around with it. This has nothing to do with the XML file location (it acts the same either way) but I did more playing around with DFXVoice and this is what happens on my computers.


Let me see if I can explain this without it getting confused. I am just talking about trying to execute voice commands. As you already know the XML editor has the problem saving-editing-creating Global/screen commands & the "Scan Music Collection does not work" with "Use RRMedia DB" disabled.

On Windows 7 32bit
(1) With NO Microsoft Expression installed with "Use RRMedia ENABLED" = Don't work (Won't listen for voice commands)
(2) With NO Microsoft Expression installed with "Use RRMedia DISABLED" = it will listen for voice commands but will not respond to "play artist xxx" it does respond to "what time is it" Now I know the RRMedia shouldn't work but if I say anyways "Play rock music" it loads rap music. If I say play rap music it works right. Sometimes it just thinks I said music etc. It has a mind of its own :)

(3) WITH Microsoft Expression installed with "Use RRMedia ENABLED" it works good as far as I can tell.
(4) WITH Microsoft Expression installed with "Use RRMedia DISABLED" it will listen for voice commands but will not respond to "play artist xxx" it does respond to "what time is it" and it also has a mind of its own if you try RRMedia commands which shouldn't work anyways :)

I couldn't get it to listen for voice commands before no matter what I tried (With or without Microsoft Expression)
but then I put in the XML file into the DFX\Plugin\DFXVoice\ and now it will listen but not respond to "play artist xxx" "play xxx music"

Is there a way to use the search feature "all" or at least by or title or filename in RRMedia via voice? like if I wanted to search for the word "New York" it would list everything with new york.

I actually have a update that I'll be posting soon that has a couple of fixes. The reason that none of the play artist xxx would work w/o the use rrmeda option is that the blank xml templates it looking for when doing a scan to build them,where missing from the installer (oops!).

Currently there is only a hacked up way of doing a voice search that I came up with a while back but now that RRMedia is incorporated, it could be done much cleaner right in the plugin. I will work on adding this feature as it would be nice to have as well.

Michael, I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you also getting an exception error when trying to use the xml editor like I describe in post 390?

Hopefully that will be one the the fixes Blue was talking about.

Fixed the installer, was missing the blank Music & Songs XML templates (oops!)
Fixed 64bit issue
Added installer check for C++ 2010 SP1 Redist files
Added Error check for the scan music if Use RRMedia option is on
Added Error screen notification that when changing the Use RRMedia Db option requires a restart of RR

Don't be surprised if the installer asks you to install another requirement as i found the reason why installing the M$ Expression seemed to fix the underlying issue. Just couldn't understand why that would have to be installed when I don't use anything from it, and didn't like to have users install something to fix an issue when I'm not even using it.

Quick update but will play around with it more later today.

I uninstalled Microsoft Expression. I was installing new version of DFXVoice and it told me I needed C++ 2010 SP1 (whch I did)then I went to install the new DFXVoice and it gave me an error saying it couldn't delete a dll file. I aborted it and restarted my computer then it worked.

Everything seems better :) but the scan music collection still don't work right, it starts the scan now but in 1 sec the thread 1 says it is done and thread 2 never starts. :(

Will play around with it more on XP & WIN 7 64 later today but it seems like the voice commands and the XML editor is working good.

I did not uninstall Expressions prior to installing the plugin and did download and install C++ 2010 SP1 when prompted. The plugin install proceeded flawlessly.

I'm experiencing the same thing - though I intend to use the plugin with RRMedia so there's no reason for me to do a scan.

I'd like to know if your have the MoblePhone.net plugin setup on a W7 machine and the v1.+ version of this plugin, does it still crash? Did I by accident fix that issue too??

I'd also like get feed back on any noticeable if any lag for users that were used to the old xml database and are now trying the RRMediaDb option. I don't think I really can tell which its using...
