I can replicate what you were seeing easy enough.
I didn't realise VB's input # function treated commas in the read string as a delimiter. I've switched to pipes in tripmeter.ini in this test dll, hopefuly it will work for you.
This one's version is 0.5.0.37 if you're having caching problems
Nice... I'm stuck at work right now but I'll try it on the way home, your last update worked great anyway, it starts with RR now... I'll get bacj to you later today if it worked or not!

    [edit]
Well it didn't work , I still get the same strange numbers after shuting RR down once and then going to the tripmeter screen.

    Code:
    25,5734605188611
    25,4936885519087
That's what I have in my tripmeter.ini file, the first line is the total & trip distance and the second one is what I logged as "work". in the tripmeter skin I only see:
    Total: 25
    Trip:0
Work: *60518*, * is some more numbers that doesn't fit.
    thanks for the try anyway!

I read your reply, looked at my code, and slapped myself. That version was never going to work.
Try this one, I spent a fair bit of time testing it this morning. If you have a tripmeter.ini with commas in it, the first time you run this version you will need to reset the meters, after that it should be fine.
If your tripmeter.ini is blank/nonexistant/has periods in it, it will work straight away. You're probably best off just deleting your tripmeter.ini to make sure it starts properly the first time.
This one also makes a backup of your tripmeter.ini on each start, in case you accidentally zero your work meter or something.

ok, I waited all day to try this one since I was kind of busy but I finally got into the car and gave it a try... I deleted my old ini file, removed the .dll and downloaded the new one... this is the result after restarting RR:

    My ini contains:
    Code:
    29|2898990331957
    0
This time it's not filling in the parts that it shouldn't so my best guess this time is that there's way to many decimals, before I restart it the screen shows 29,28 and thats enough, if you can just set the number of decimals it should save to 2 or something... getting close anyway...
What worries me is that neither you or the majority of ppl using it isn't having this kind of problem...

mine seems to be working now. after a brief test it auto-loads, miles dont reset to zero after reboot, and numbers look ok. The only thing thats odd about this screen is the colors, the top is my day color and the bottom (a seperate .swf) is my night color. I think there's a variable in the plugin that is throwing flash off... cause its only like this on this skin. How bout that average speed lol

    my .ini

    Code:
    84|2034390368218
    8|911375123702
he replaced the decimals with | . another difference i just noticed is your using km/h whereas i use mph... perhaps there's something wrong in the conversion?

hmm... might be, first thing tomorrow I'll turn of the international units and give it a try...

I just realized that I have registered the .dll about 5 times or something, one time for each new version, might that have sometjhing to do with it or does it replace the previous registration each time??

Even though a dozen or so decimal places are stored in the ini, only 2 are displayed in the labels. This can be overridden by creating a milage.ini in the plugin's dir, with the line 'decimalplaces=1' for 1 decimal place etc.

I can change it so only 2dp are saved to the ini, i don't suppose much accuracy is gained by having any more than that, but I'm not sure that's the problem.

After deleting your tripmeter.ini file and starting, do all meters show 0?
I think what you were saying was that they did show 0, then you drove 29km, stopped RR and restarted - and that's when the numbers all went wrong?
Was there a tripmeter.bak file created in the plugin's dir?
