Sorry... still no luck here :(

Well..... Sorry to come back in here with another problem.

I just tried it out, and for the life of me can not get it to work.

In the above screen capture, you will see

    - I am on the default Video screen (Video_Player.skin, called with the "Video" code on the button)

    - The motionlock.ini has speed-1 in it (For testing)

    - the motionlock.ini is located in the RR Root folder.

I did register the file, and got the confirmation pop-up. (I did re-register it and try again)

    I have /X,MotionLock in the menu.skin file

I followed the letters to a T in the read me, and also compared it to the first post in this thread.

    Any other suggestions?

Do you have debugging enabled in RR? If not, turn it on. You should see something in the debug.log that tells you whether the plugin is loading and what is happening.
Here's a piece of my debug log when I have speed set to -1, and I try to launch the video_player.skin:

    Code:
    8/01/2007 12:19:57 PM: SDK command: REQUEST;MotionLock;RRSCREEN
    8/01/2007 12:19:57 PM: SDK command: REQUEST;MotionLock;GPSSPD
These lines appear when the plugin first loads, to determine the current skin loaded, and the current speed.

    Code:
8/01/2007 12:19:58 PM: Enter Exec: False, menu.skin, "VIDEO", False
8/01/2007 12:19:58 PM: Que Exec: True, menu.skin, "VIDEO", False
    8/01/2007 12:19:58 PM: SDK command: LOAD;motionlock_denied.skin
    8/01/2007 12:19:58 PM: Enter Exec: True, menu.skin, "LOAD;motionlock_denied.skin", False
    8/01/2007 12:19:58 PM: Queued: "LOAD;motionlock_denied.skin"
Here, the RR command "VIDEO" is executed - and the motionlock plugin intercepts the command and executes "LOAD;motionlock_denied.skin" instead.

Have you tested to see if the motionlock_indicator is on with speed=-1? That would also be a good indication as to whether the plugin is loading correctly or not.

I Just re-read your post and noticed:
    I have /X,MotionLock in the menu.skin file
The "/" will comment out the X line - do you really have it there? If so, remove the / and try again

    Oops... Typo

Hehehe I dont know where that typo came from! No I don't have the forward slash there...

Here are the plugins in my menu.skin

    X,Mp3Art
    X,RREarth
    X,MotionLock

I will turn on the debugging and see what I get.

    EDIT:

Well, you were right, the debug log is showing that the path is not found. This does not make ANY sence to me, as it is named correctly, and is in the root Road Runner folder. This appears to be something on my machine, but I have NO idea what.

Here is a screen cap of the error, as well as plainly seeing that indeed the .dll is in the RR Root folder. I am 101% positive it is registered.

I may have to uninstall RR, and start from scratch and see if that fixes it somehow. Not looking forward to it, and trying to remember what all I have added to the rr.ini file and ExecTbl files.... Yuck

Was it working for either of you before today's update?
I just went back through the code and found a few lines that were commented out that shouldn't have been, but it was still working fine for me... the only way I can get the file not found error is to rename/delete the motionlock.ini. It's the only file that the plugin opens, so that *has* to be where that error is coming from.

Try this dll - if there's any problem loading the motionlock.ini, it will tell you via a msgbox. This dll is for testing only, plugins should *never* launch msgboxes but it's the easiest way to help work out what the problem is for now.

    *Edit* removed dll attachment

The test one you just posted give me a "Runtime Error 13 Type Mismatch error" and crashes RR.

There's no doubt that the plugin is registered on your system, you wouldn't be getting errors from it in the debug log if there was a reg problem.

re: the new one crashing, I'll see if I can work out what that's about tonight.
