You can either cache at a lower altitude or change the INI to not zoom in so close when stopped.

I have tested the last version you posted and it works fine for me. I had the previous one installed as well (it worked also).

I did notice the Google Earth map quality was reduced. I had seen this before when working on other PC's after adjusting video settings. I will confirm tomorrow am, but I am sure it was great when I loaded GE and GooPs.

Should I be seeing this as part of the RRearth integration?

I also noticed that when activated the skin would load, then GE, then it would draw and the skin would be 'behind' it. I would have to refresh the entire screen to get the skin on top. The buttons worked and displayed after pressing the correct spot on the screen.

I've been noticing that (to me) the google earth cache files seem to "expire" after around a month or so.. I don't know if that can be disabled, but that means you may have to re-cache your files after that time or it will loose detail on the images (as you suggested). However, I can assure you that the latest version of the plugin does not affect the quality of the images in any way.

How odd.. I did compare by opening it in Goops/GE direct and the detail was there, then with RRearth it was not.. in both cases I was offline. I also went in a bumped up the quality for both DirectX and OpenGL to the same level just to be sure. I'll test it again on Friday.

On the expire note.. I have not seen that, my car is almost never online and never when GE is running. I'm sure my cache is older than 1 month as I have been using GooPs longer than that. I have never seen it "degrade". Anyone else seen this?

maybe that's a symptom only when GE is ran partially online and partially offline (my case).. haven't had a chance to define the problem just yet (I just leave it caching every now and then).

ok i have successfully cached the DC metro area, but i dont know how to get google earth to use that cache. I overwrote the files in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\local settings\application data\google\google earth but the whole area is as it was before the cache transfer. Do i have to do something within the program itself to tell it not to use the net connection and use the cache?

If you've copied the cache files from that folder (a few hundred Mbs), and it did not work on the carpc, I must assume you're running different users on the machines.. you just need to figure out exactly where each cache is -- I also would suggest double check you're using the same version of GE (just a prevention).

i copied from a different username to that username(the only one on my carpc). the cache file was 1.7 gig

Note: When you install GE, if you do a custom install you can specify the cache location. I use c:\GE_Cache

Any news Guino? I'm loving the DLL you sent me that responds to GE_START properly and works with Google Earth (if you GE_GPSOFF). It would just be so much cooler with the direction buttons working as well. They worked for one release on one of my PCs (it didn't on the other 3), but that one didn't allow the GooPs network link to be active (and I lost that copy).

Also, GE_START||GE_GPSOFF doesn't work... you have to wait for RREarth to load before GE_GPSOFF works. It would be awesome if you could fix that too.
