I use it in a Jetway C7 1.5ghz mobo & processor & it works fine. Initially, it didn't work & there was a blocky polygon problem, but they updated their drivers & now it is as smooth as a hot knife in butter!

Because of how the integration with GE works, I can't update the gps position without loading a view to it (it is possible but it would require deleting/re-adding the link inside GE -- this stuff tends to break and be unstable).. if you don't want to zoom center to a location, you can turn off the GPS view .. or if you just want a specific zoomed out view, you can write a zoom ini file and load it so it zooms to the desired level at any speed.

are there any skins that implement this natively? i am a new rr user (debating the switch from cf) and have downloaded simplistique, iphone, and FU. any way to get this to run inside of those skins?

You can add this to any skin. If it doesn't already have a screen made for it, you can either make one or just use the default red/black one provided. I know there are some skins with screens made for it..

DigitalFX has a skin for it. You still need to reassign a button to launch it, but it's really very easy to do.

First of all - thanks for this great plugin!
I noticed one issue. I'm Russian user of RoadRunner. And here is one problem because of Russian regional setting in Windows.
i saw the "GPS.kml.ini" file, it' ok with it - let's look at this line:
<coordinates>[GPSLON],[GPSLAT],0</coordinates>
in USA and europe Regional settings the separator in numbers is "." so in GPS.kml-file this line will generated as
<coordinates>-90.86948943473118,48.25450093195546,0</coordinates>
the goole will understand it.
But with Russian regional settings the separator is "," and the line will generated as:
<coordinates>-90,86948943473118,48,25450093195546,0</coordinates>

loook at the commas! and the goggle will not understand coordinates of the label.
we will see the right view because of this section will be OK:
<LookAt>
<longitude>-90,86948943473118</longitude>
<latitude>48,25450093195546</latitude>
<range>305,8880792294568</range>
<tilt>46,72425699662645</tilt>
<heading>331</heading>
</LookAt>
but the Label will be in another place and we won't see it.
Hope you understand situation. maybe you will fix the plugin for the write the numbers with dots, not commas.
And another question - is there a button code for temporary disable GPS.KML-file updating in google? Sometimes i need manually rotate a globe to see another location, but i can't do this because it quickly return back to GPS location.

i tried to get the plugin to work with the iphone skin by modifying the following code in the menu.txt:
&mainbut9=GE@icons/gps.png@LOAD;RREARTH.skin;GE_START

i also added 'X,RREarth' to the end of the menu.skin file.

when i click the GE icon in the skin, if i dont have GE running in the background beforehand, the GE skin pulls up (which i have copied into the iphone directory) but GE doesnt embed. If i load up GE beforehand and then load the plugin, GE embed only after i hit the menu button. However, GE does not respond to any of the buttons in the window except the 'toggle GPS' one which seems to get stuck halfway across the world (since I dont have a gps receiver at my test bench) and i can't untoggle it.

i also copied the rest of the rrearth files into the road runner directory (inside their own subfolder), and ran the rr.bat file to register the dll. do these files need to be moved into the directory of the skin, or the root of rr?

i am assuming that i am just embedding this plugin all wrong, but this is my first time playing with RR. is there a general guide anywhere on how to use the commands for button actions and loading up plugins? i didnt see one in the FAQs

EDIT:
i got rid of the rrearth.skin and load commands from the menu.txt file and it loads it up properly now with the skin and all. the toggle gps button seems to work, but the fly to button does not...

@hari: you have to enter an address first to use the fly to button -- is that what you're doing ? You also need to have working internet for it to work.
