Hey Enforcer, Long time no see!

No, I wasn't but how about that Belgian weather! A bit different than the rain you guys gave me when I came to the UK...

And, was it any fun over here?

Been just as sunny that weekend (and the following week) in England.

I got a bit burnt on the Saturday as i didn't use any sun screen, didn't expect it to be that sunny

Yeah it was fun, lovely ring roads round brussels and liege you have

Stayed in Malmedy, nice little hotel just opposite the Hospital.

Seemed a nice town, although Sunday night whilst eating outside the restaurant plenty of load teenage exhausts. So no different to here really.

Honestly this last version is less stable than the previous one. A lot of the time I resume and ibusRR just crashes. No errors but I have to start it again.
The times when it doesn't crash it does continue to work.

I'll wait for other inputs but unfortunately I can't reproduce the hibernation/resume problems on my CarPC or my 2 homePCs so I'm doing guesswork! What is your mainboard and windows version?

Havnt tried the new version, only had the problem once on v2.0, will let you know when i try new release, only other thing i can think is to change program to close, and reopen ibusrr after resume, with a seperate launcher that sits in the tray that launches/closes ibusrr. That should release the port and solve all hibernation issues?

    Just an idea

Edit: Is everyone using the resler ibus interface as well?

I'm still using v2.0.0 in the car now. No hibernation issues so far. I probably will try v2.0.3 in the car tomorow. For PC-specs, see sig. Using the serial iBus controller from reslers.

I guess you will find those everywhere...

Ok, just put v2.0.3 in the car and not having any problems so far. Went in and out of Hibernation a couple of times and everything seems to work fine on my PC.

    A couple of questions though:

The OBC functions don't seem to work. My car doesn't have a factory OBC or check control. I guess iBusRR needs this to display the OBC functions... The only ones that do work are speed and rpm. But I don't really need those since they are allready displayed right in front of me... And I was thinking I finaly found a cheap way to have an OBC. I guess I'm out of luck...

Another question. Would it be possible to write a script and create something like this ? Pressing a button starts it and pressing another stops it or something like that. I guess it's possible but I haven't got a clue on how to start on it. Maybe someone could write a small sample script and tell me what program to edit it in and I should be able to work from there. Thats how I started skinning. Maybe this is my chance on starting to program...

$COOLANTTEMP$ and $VIN$ might also work, however $VIN$ is only updated when iBusRR is started or when you turn on your key so RR has to be already started, I'll fix it in the next release (I know VIN isn't really useful but it was easy to grab so I added it)

an iLight-style script is possible however it's hard to make a user friendly interface (perhaps an rr screen?) to configure which light you want to turn on and when. Light patterns won't be the same on an E39 and an E46 neither so it adds another difficulty.

Bimmerstyle, can you tell me if $COOLANTTEMP$ is working for you? If yes, can you send me a log of your i-bus starting just before you turn on your car and ending 30sec later? I might be able to add outsidetemp for you (assuming there is a probe on your car)

My idea was: creating a script that can be launched with a button within a RR screen and plays a sequence in a loop until another (or even the same) button is pressed. If this would work then create some more scripts with other sequences and create seperate buttons for it. This way there would be a couple of different pre-defined sequences to choose from. I honestly don't know what I'm talking about here so it could be a stupid idea...

I didn't try $COOLANTTEMP$ yet. $CONSUMPTION$, $RANGE$ and $OUTSIDETEMP$ didn't work. I have an outside temp probe on the car so I was expecting $OUTSIDETEMP$ to work also but it didn't so I kinda gave up on the others assuming none of them would work. I will give $COOLANTTEMP$ a go tomorow and see if it works.

Should the log file be from just before I turn on ignition or the engine? I guess I can create a log file with iBusanalyzer? Or should it be done in another way?
