    I just recently installed a new carpc to replace my laptop and sometimes when I resume from standby it takes a little while for the ibus usb to come back online and I get a port not found error in ibusRR. Would it be possible to add a configurable resume reinitialize delay?
    One more thing, I'm using the auto RR gamma but it's acting wonky. It's setting gamma by itself sometimes without touching anything. Also turning the lights on to the first notch with toggle gamma to the next setting not necessarily the night one. turning the lights off from full on will toggle once per notch so twice. The gamma button on the skin cycles through 3 gamma modes. Do I have to change this somewhere?

    Thanks

    Hey guys,

    Does ibusrr work with the OEM 16:9 display as ibuscomm does? The difference to a retrofitted display is, that i need a switched line to switch between the normal BMW screen and the car-pc screen. With the ProcessEvent command I can activate and deactivate sending commands to the pc. So when the BMW screen is activated all commans are inactive and you wont send any commands to your carputer when its in the background.

    Here an extract from the ibuscomm.ini:

    ; Switched Line
    ;
    ; The switched line can be used to activate a relay to switch on for example, the
    ; video line to the PC and the Navigation computer
    ;
    ; 0 : No switched line used
    ; 1 : RTS line used
    ; 2 : DTR line used
    ;
    ; A ProcessEvent=Enable will set the line to HIGH.
    ; A ProcessEvent=Disable will set the line to LOW.
    ; Status is LOW by default.
    ;
    SwitchedLine=0

    It would be great if it is possible in any way to do that with ibusrr. So i would finally be able to use roadrunner with my OEM Navi.

    Best regards from BMW-country Bavaria,

    Benjamin

    what skin is everyone using for this? I used iGoBMW and the OBC functions work perfectly but something is going on with the lights and the windows. For example, rear windows will roll down but not roll up. Front windows will only roll up half way. Left and right windows are swapped.
    Half the lights dont work. I took a look at the .skin file and some commands don't match what's in ibusrr.ini. Is this the reason?

    This is from the .skin:

    and ibusrr.ini has totally different commands.

    Toxic0n, Are you using the IBusRR.ini that is included with the iGoBMW skin? You will need that for all of the commands to work.

    I have only been playing with the IbusRR plug-in for a few days, although I have played with the iBus and a laptop a few years ago.
    I too am seeing some strange behaviour with the lights. I have had a look at the serial data that is being sent from IbusRR to the iBus and I believe the commands and checksums are being sent correctly.
    I have just noticed that there are two lines in the IBusRR.ini that is included with the iGoBMW skin, which contain an error.

    I believe that

    [ID:LIGHT_ON_FOG]
    MsgTemplate="3f0bBF0c000000000000of0106"

    should be

    [ID:LIGHT_ON_FOG]
    MsgTemplate="3f0bBF0c0000000000000106"

    And

    [ID:LIGHT_ON_TAILLIGHT_RIGHT]
    MsgTemplate="3f0bBF0c000000000000080c"

    Should be

    [ID:LIGHT_ON_TAILLIGHT_RIGHT]
    MsgTemplate="3f0bBF0c0000000000000806"

    I think it maybe this above command that may be confusing the light control module. I have not checked this at the moment as I am at work. I will check this tonight and feedback my findings. I know the light control commands work as I have sent them from a different program on a laptop.

    I have not had a play with the windows yet, so I cannot help there.

    Testing on a 2003 - E46, 320d

    iBusRR v2.0.5 custom ini entries?

    Hi all,

    iBusRR v2.0.5 is a thing of beauty!

    My question: Can I define my own entries in the ini file, then map them to a keyboard stroke to generate the iBus commands? I want control the stock head unit in the glove box, via a keyboard.

    For example, to generate the iBus code corresponding to the pressing of the "1" button on the head unit, create this entry in iBusRR.ini

    ;BUTTON ONE
    [ID:BUTTON_ONE]
    MsgTemplate="F004684811C5"
    TTR=2

    Create this entry in KeyTBL.ini
    49, "BUTTON ONE"
    Keycode 49 translates to the "1" key being pressed on the keyboard.

    Create a skin with this entry
    "SENDMSG;iBusRR;BUTTON_ONE"

    The theory is, the 1 key is pressed on the keyboard, KeyTBL.ini sends a call to the Button One entry in the skin, which triggers the iBus code for Button One in the iBusRR.ini.

    Does this make sense? Is there a simpler way to map keyboard strokes to the iBusRR.ini to generate (valid)user defined iBus messages?

    Is there a way to make this a universal, regardless of which RR screen I am in (e.g. music, NAV etc)

    Thanks a lot,

    RRG

    Disregard my previous post

    Looks like I got the answer 1 year ago... I got off the project for a long time, and forgot all about this.

    For those interested, here is the post. Thanks again Enforcer!
