    Hi,

    I know I have asked before but didnt get the answer, or dont think I did lol
    What do you change in the IBUS.ini to send say F10 key press when pressing the phone button on the steering wheel and then have the hotkey in the microsoft voice control listen for comand when F10 hot key is pressed?

    Is anyone uses iBusRR with this device?

    I've got a problem - iBusRR sometimes crashes with Error Number 5 (Incorrect Number of Parameters). It depends on nothing - just crashes randomly!
    Can anyone help me? I've send a message to WarFiElD but no answer.

    This might help

    I'm not sure if this entry in the ini file is supported by WarField's exe, but the original ini file had it. As you are using the "simple interface", try adding ContentionManagement=0 to the IBusRR.ini and see if that helps.
    Let us know how it goes.

    ; Contention Management
    ;
    ; IBusCOMM is able to manage contention problems by testing the bus line before sending
    ; a message to another device.
    ;
    ; 0 : By software (simple Interface 1/2)
    ; 1 : CTS/RTS (T.Woods or Melexis chips based interfaces). NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED.
    ; 2 : RING High (Simpe Interface 3)NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED.
    ; 3 : CTS High " NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED.
    ; 4 : CD High "NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED.
    ; 5 : DSR High "NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED.
    ;
    ; 0 mode is a pure software contention detection, working enough well if you already have
    ; a basic interface.
    ; 1 mode is a hardware contention management.
    ; 2 to 5 is a mix beetween hardware and software, more accurate than the 0 mode as it works at
    ; a bit resolution rather than character resolution.
    ;

    ContentionManagement=0

    I have already tested it and no result. It seems that maybe country settings or something cause that error. I use IbusCOMM for now and it don't crash!
    Thx for help.

    Maybe some time later i'll do my version of IbusCOMM like IbusRR with some improvements.

    Does anyone else's IbusRR randomly crash with a Runtime Error 5? It works fine after restarting it and there is no pattern as to when it crashes.

    Hi. I've this situation. I use simple interface (not Reslers) and iBusRR crashes randomly with this Error!

    So i try to write my own IBUS handler, it'll be a Windows NT Service. So. Need to wait!

    I have been using iBusRR V2.0.5 for 2 months / 4500miles, I have not yet had a runtime error.

    Win XP SP2 on a VIA EN15000 using Reslers serial interface.

    Do you write to IBus, "Wanted"? In that case a simplified IBus interface is no good.
    But that should not get you win errors anyway.
    I am interested in your new driver! Make it listen to CTS (or whatever you use as bus collision detection).

    Hi all,

    I am too just in the process of installing a OEM integrated CarPC with a BMW nav system. I use a CIS-IBUS box to do this which also uses RTS->high to switch video inputs.

    I will probably have a look at the other ibuscomm variants too as I really need this but it would be really nice to see this being incorporated in ibusRR.

    Regards,

    /Erik

    Does ibusrr work with the OEM 16:9 display as ibuscomm does? The difference to a retrofitted display is, that i need a switched line to switch between the normal BMW screen and the car-pc screen. With the ProcessEvent command I can activate and deactivate sending commands to the pc. So when the BMW screen is activated all commans are inactive and you wont send any commands to your carputer when its in the background.

    Here an extract from the ibuscomm.ini:

    ; Switched Line
    ;
    ; The switched line can be used to activate a relay to switch on for example, the
    ; video line to the PC and the Navigation computer
    ;
    ; 0 : No switched line used
    ; 1 : RTS line used
    ; 2 : DTR line used
    ;
    ; A ProcessEvent=Enable will set the line to HIGH.
    ; A ProcessEvent=Disable will set the line to LOW.
    ; Status is LOW by default.
    ;
    SwitchedLine=0

    It would be great if it is possible in any way to do that with ibusrr. So i would finally be able to use roadrunner with my OEM Navi.

    Best regards from BMW-country Bavaria,

    Benjamin
