    Hi all,

I wonder if anyone knows the ibus codes to reset the consumption fuel and setting the date and the time. I would like to add buttons to it in my skin.

Also is it possible to intercept the code to display the camera back in rr when the reverse gear is engaged?

thanx a lot for yours answers.
    Sorry for my english

    Hi WarField,

My name is Nick and I am really enjoying your IBusRR plugin. I have just one question about recieving the outsidetemp. Now it is showing the temp in 'C and I want to know if it is possible to change it in the degree symbol C. Hope you can help me if this possible.

    Hope to hear from you.

    My best regards
    Nick

Sorry for the newb question. But what hardware do you need to get this working? I'm installing a carpc and would love to have more control than what OEM offers.

    Hello.
This is my first real post on this particular forum, so please, bear with me...

assuming that you have the needed hardware and the software to do all the wonderful things that people are doing here... I am referring to an i-Bus BMW and the CarPC.

Is it possible to create a "macro" (for the lack of a better term), where, for example, as you are driving on a highway, all windows rolled down, sunroof open, and your better half says: honey, my hair is getting messed... So, you roll the windows up, and turn the AC on... would it be possible to touch the AC activation, and that would in turn activate a sequence to roll the windows and close the sunroof? A step further from this, would be, if a call comes in, and it would trigger the AC to come on, and the windows to roll up...

In essence, the question is, is it possible to activate a sequence of i-Bus commands in response to a single event?

At this moment I only have one piece of the hardware so far, which is an E53 X5 and I am eyeing up a possibility of getting a CarPC and CIS-IBUS interface, that talks to i-Bus and converts the PC video (VGA) into the factory display.

I appreciate your insight into this,

Easy, you would just need to program the sequence of commands that you want into a button on a skin.

Or define the sequence in the exectbl.ini and have one command on the skin button.

I know that is something you are not familiar with yet, but once you start to play with RR you will see the possibilities.

Oh, my God - everytime I hear the word "program" or "programming", I instantly picture a room full of computer equipment, very smart people in white smokes and big, rhino-horn-made eyeglasses looking into the big screens and telling the computers what to do... And then, I walk into the room, with a big box, and say : "who ordered pizza??!!" ha ha ha...

I am sure, it is intimidating at first, but hopefully I will manage to learn the skin programming... lol...

enforcer, it seems that you have an E46 - do you still have it? Did you have factory 16:9 screen or did you install something aftermarket? If it was factory, did you use CIS IBUS or did you use Resler's adapter and something else for video? There is not much information outside of the manufacturer about the CIS IBUS - I've done some searches on the net at large and at these forums, not much info...

What I envision (and the reality check will make its corrections to my vision), is to keep the factory 16:9 screen, but remove the factory TV module, factory Bluetooth module, factory CD changer, factory Voice Recognition module, and factory Navigation module and have a CarPC take over those functions. Once the navigation computer is taken off, the CIS IBUS is the only source of the screen menus coming from the PC. I was thinking about keeping the DSP and the Radio module, the monitor has the tape player (who plays tapes nowdays???)... If the Nav comes out, that removes the original source of the screen menus that normally would include the Aux Ventilation, DSP and the Code (for engine kill switch). Can the buttons on the skins replicate those functions for DSP, Vent and the Code?

The 46 is still awaiting a carPc, I have one in my E36 and have retrofitted a MF steering wheel to it, so I can control the volume etc.

I am using reslers ibus adapter to connect the SW to the PC.

The E46 does not have the NAV system, I delberately got one with out so I didn't have to worry about taking it out and what OEM features I would loose.

I would say it likely that you can replicate most of the features as long as they are controlled and use the iBus to send info.

I'm not sure keeping the OEM screen will work very well with the PC, the display quality will dive, but having said that Sama is/was putting a PC into his E46 M3 which had the OEM naviagtion and he was rigging some fancy boards to allow him to connect the PC to it.

Add the command to send it to the onresume in exectbl.ini

    example

    PHP Code:

    "ONRESUME","SENDMSG;iBusRR;OPEN_TRUNK"
