Or notepad
this skin dos'nt have a minimize button , you can add 1 yourself vai skin editor
Or notepad
oh yes and Enforcers well know Notepad lol...
The skin doesn't have a minimise button ,but as carputer1 mentioned it's easy to add one yourself ...
When working on the design I wanted the TEK skins to be easy to use in-car, and things like minimise didn't really fall into the easy to do in the car ...
one very easy to do this is to edit the "topmenu.inc" file with notepad and replace the line
B03,683,01,115,56,"LOAD;mixer.skin","" with this line
B03,683,01,115,56,"LOAD;mixer.skin",@MINIMIZE@
Doing it this way will add a hidden minimize button to the volume button on most screens ... press and hold the volume to minimise the skin.

I like the look and all the integration of this skin.
However, I'm having a couple of issues.
First off, I hate having to click on the volume button every time I want to adjust volume. I'm thinking it would be better off to have vol+ and vol- keys some where on all screens.
Also, when using Garmin Mobile PC (external) the GMPC window takes up the entire screen. In order to get out of Garmin and back to RR I have to close GMPC (via the x). This is pretty much a deal breaker for me. I would like to be able to switch back and forth from Garmin to RR and have volume and track controls while Garmin is open. Having to close it every time means I have to wait for it to load again each time I want to check my route.
Thanks!

hi ronjon228 ...
firstly, for the volume it wold require a complete redesign of the skin to add vol controls to all screens ...
as for the Garmin, TEK4 was designed to fully handle integrated GMPC software. For it to work you need to do the following ...
... In RRConfig, go to GPS screen, and set the "GPS Path" to the exe for Garmin.
... Set the GPS Window Name to "Garmin"
... Set the GPS Mode to "Menu"
and then inside TEK4 on the GPS Menu select Garmin ... this will load Garmin Mobile with an overlay that allows switching between Garmin and RR ...

Awesome, thanks Val.
The volume thing may be a deal breaker for me, but I'll give the skin a shot.
Thanks!

Get yourself a Griffin powermate for volume control.Works great with that one.
I use turning for volume, pressing for mute and long press for hibernation.
What is it with the 'Deal breaker' phrase people keep using with skins and front ends, especially free ones.
Where is the deal if the software is free? use it or don't use but don't say something is a 'deal breaker' [/RANT]
NB this is not a dig specific to you ronjon228 as I see this phrase used quite often on this board by other as well.
No worries bud, I completely understand. Trust me, I'm the first to praise all you guys for your hard work. I've stuck with free front ends this long and am really hoping I can find a skin (other than carwings) that gives me everything I'm looking for. At this point it's either RR or CF and I don't want to pay for a front end.
The only reason I used that term is because it's true. I don't have any external volume control and am constantly adjusting the volume. In my case I can't live without a readily "pushable" volume control at my disposal.
This by no means knocks your skin. It's a beautiful skin for sure. Hopefully you understand now. Keep up the good work man.![]()
