I like the skin, but I'm having a problem with it. For some reason this seems to be responsible for keeping the RideRunner.exe and MediaLauncher.exe processes alive even after closing RR. Is there some config setting I've missed that would cause this to happen?

I think it has something to do with MediaLauncher.exe. I renamed it to something else so it wouldn't launch with RR + Reborn, and ever since I did that I haven't had the RR process stay alive after closing the app.

    I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (x86) with SP1.

I use same OS and I noticed the same problem, but for me it happens randomly. I need to ask the developer of the MediaLaunch if he can help with this. In the meantime, the best fix is not to use MediaLaunch. Open ExecTBL from Reborn folder and remove MEDIALAUNCH from onskinstart line.

Just an FYI, MediaLaunch will not close until the RideRunner.exe process is gone. Do you have a debug.txt we can look at while RR seems to be hung in the background? Did you setup Medialaunch via the ini? I'm not sure on Medialaunch compatibility with windows 7 and/or windows 7 64bit. It may need elevated rights...

Thanks, brother. I'll edit ExecTBL so MediaLauncher doesn't start. Here's my debug.txt file, in case it helps. It's been looked at by someone else (I posted this in another thread) and apparently it doesn't show anything.

I posted the debug.txt in my previous post. Other than changing the drive, I haven't touched the ini file for ML.

I don't think it's needed at all. I don't really care about being notified and/or scanning for new media. My carpc doesn't have an optical drive, and I don't play from USB either.

If you don't need it, no sense in using it. FYI, clean install on window 7 64bit and RR/Reborn work great. Medialaunch dies by itself once in a while. Right click on the medialaunch.exe and change the compatibility to run as administrator and it works fine--it does some writing to the HD so that probably kills it without the correct rights. I can't see how medialaunch would hold up RR...but if RR hangs it will hang with it. I think I can set the autoit program to run with elevated privileges within the program. I will have to work on that.

In your debug, sleep seconds as 1 very fast (medialaunch runs every 1 second), everything else looks normal.

Moved to plugins folder in program files/ride runner and it works without fail so far (it was in my documents in the skin folder). Also added one line to the program and it forces it to run as administrator(not really needed if it's in the program files directory).

I moved it to the plugins folder and changed the ExecTBL.ini file to reflect the new location, and it seems to have fixed the problem.

BTW - is there a string (like $SKINPATH) that is reserved for the main RR plugins directory?
