trader007, just drop the new "ShoutCastScraper.exe" to DFX5--->"InternetRadio"overwriting it, and in the "Genres" folder add the "My Stations"file that blue provided. Just add to (not overwriting) DFX5--->"InternetRadio"--->"Genres" folder.
Now being that you're already in your "InternetRadio" folder, open your "StationList.ini with notepad and add (type) [My Stations] to the list of Genres already there.
Then add all your radio station urls under the [My Stations] that you don't want to be erased.
You should have a "My stations" in the list of Genres .....with all your stations listed now when you use the internet radio. :)
thanks rawpwr. i fingered it out i think. my vnc connection is fading, but i think i understand how to add my own stations now. i like it.
ok that did work. i still have to figure out how to add multiple url's to one radio button (lots of my stations have more then one url) but other then that, its WAY easier then before!
Hi blue, have you seen the problem with the new mpc-hc versions on dfx5.1?
Can you please take a look here http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/road...ml#post1446751
Thank you for your time and hope for a solution :)
So I have this skin setup with iGuidance, when I start the nav up my start bar shows through RR and the skin/nav. Is this a patch fix? Do I just need to disable my start bar? Sorry, I'm new to the carpc world.
Thanks
Josh
Yea, that Net Radio was a total revamp of the way it was done before. As for the list showing, it only grabs 10 of each genre, and that is what the list is set up to display. It is an iList, so if there are more than 10 in the list, you can scroll the list with your finger.
Hmmm I guess I could add another button to "Load Playlist" on the options, and save that to the button. I will see what I can do about that.
its not a big deal john, i just added a "My Stations" line to the ini and filled in the url link that i ripped from the playlist. it worked great, and saves about 45 days a month just keeping buttons up to date :D
i didnt look hard into it, but is it possible to have multiple url's for one button? before it would just have winamp load the playlist, so if one of the url's didnt work it would automatically move to the next one.... i will admit though its rare that the first one doesnt work.
Yes, that is being implemented. It is almost done. It should work with the skin now, but you have to add a line in the rr.ini pointing to your DVD drive. You need a new setting in the rr.ini:
rrDVDDrive=D
Where "D" is the drive letter to your physical DVD drive. You can read more about the settings in THIS THREAD
That has been an anoyance of mine for a LONG time now. I just finally gave up and turned off the start bar.
Now, as for the Internet Radio Playlists.....
This is going to actually be quite complicated! When you play a internet stream URL, both shoutcast, and the above mentioned The Stream Center, multiple URL's are returned. These are mirrors for each station it seems. So, if I load one of my local radio stations, it gives me 7 duplicates. This means I would need to press NEXT 7 times to get to the next radio station.
I will research it a bit more, but I really do not see a solution for this one.....
I can easily add a playlist browser, it just means you will need to create an individual .m3u for each station.
yeah i dont mean that it automatically switched stations if one didnt work, it would just go to the next mirror url like you were saying. if none of the mirror urls worked, the playing just stopped.
i was playing tricks with it though. i found both low and high bitate url's for my stations, and i would set the playlists (pls or m3u files) up so that the high bitrate url would start first. so i hit the radio station button, and a full quality stream would start. then, in that same playlist, i would add a lower bitate mirror url. it was cool because if reception got bad, and the high bitrate stream couldnt keep up, i would just hit the NEXT button on the dfx menubar on the bottom. it would skip to the next url in the playlist, and i could stream without pauses (although worse sounding of course).
the way i think you have it now seems much more direct, where it searches and finds single url's and thats it. i dont even care if thats all it can automatically do, i just wish i could add more mirror urls so they can be used seamlessly if need be.
dont get me wrong though, its is 1000x better the way it is now. if nothing else, ill just add another button for the stations i want to have low "critical" bitrate options on. or like youre saying, having a playlist browser in the net radio skin might work. especially if i could assign a button to a playlist like we used to do manually before dfx5.1
im tired though, maybe i could be explaining it better...
