That's weird, well here is the 5.1 splash.jpg, just drop/paste.
I have a question for Blue ZX3, and or maybe JohnWPB. I am troubleshooting an audio output problem. So first off I uninstalled everything (winamp, DXF5 & RR), I also removed all the RRmedia files. I then re-installed all (current winamp, RR 04/01/11 & DXF 5.0.3 & 5.1 patch). I also installed the current version of flash.
BlueZX3 when I ran the database app, it got to 100% of the #1star rating and I got a overflow error outside of RR. Then the next time I went into the browse portion I got the dialog box telling me the database was finished with a build time of .01. Is the database really complete, or should I rescan?
Back to the sound output problem. I have lost the ability to play some types of audio on my system. I am trying to troubleshoot it, but I am not sure what exactly what is going on. I can explain what I can't hear, and hopefully someone can tell me the type of audio/extension is not working. I thought it was the WAV types, since I noticed the when XP is starting, I can't hear the XP starting jingle. If I play a WAV file out in explorer, they play fine. I also do not here the greeting in DFX. When I test the sound in IG I also hear nothing. If there is no music playing I do hear a slight click as though the sound card is trying to output, but nothing is.
What audio file type is the DFX greeting?
There is no file type for any of the skin speaking, it's using the win TTS part of the SAPI API.
It sounds like you could have a audio driver that is bad or maybe the audio on the board it self which would play havic with the driver trying to use it. Not sure, just throwing out some idea's.
Thanks Blue, that is what I thought. I did notice that when I tried to get the test phrase in the text to speech in XP, I did not hear any audio as it was spoken. I just needed to be sure that the text to speak is what I need to fix. I will need to try and reload the Realtech audio drivers for my Zotac board.
Oh Blue, why did I get the overflow error when building the RRmedia database after my re-install? Should I try to build the database again? I assume I need to manually delete the database file in my Docs, and in my music folder. Y/N?
Ya, and for other FYI..there is now a setting screen for rrmedia in the plugins manager. Select rrmedia in the list and hit the setting btn. There you can do a freash start right within the skin
OK, I'm back in business.
I reinstalled dfx5.1, loader patch, and the update patch.
All good now.
Excuse me if I am being stupid, I have looked through this thread but cannot find a way to install the update.... I downloaded it again yesterday and whenever I try to install it, I get an error message telling me that the installer cannot locate the ride runner installation folder, I have it installed in c:\program files\rider runner
Thanks in advance....
