John just amazing.
DFX update lookin' good..........the to resume feature with 3G/4G is a plus.
John just amazing.
Nice skin!
I have only been running RR for a couple weeks now.(still learning)
I am on ASUS AT3IONT-I DELUXE - WIN 7 64, & using WMP as my default player in RR. Winamp was giving me fits and WMP is playing everything I throw at it.
Recently I added more Mp3 to my music folder and lately I have been getting player hangs in DFX. (ONLY)after i use the play this album button...instead of the song title it reads resume data?(player hangs) not skin..The files play fine in windows media player.
I have to go and delete the R.R files in my music folder and rebuild the list in DFX 5.1.
Am I doing something wrong?
O.K. guys, I have been trying to figure out why my system is running slow lately. My system is a Zotac B-E board with a single core Atom. I have 2 gigs of ram(2-1gig DDR strips), and use the on board sound. I power it with an old M2-ATX power controller.
The problem is when running DFX 5.1, things just run slow. I mean a 2-3 second lag after every button press, from skin screen changes to volume changes. I also have gotten a few BSoD's, but not many. Also CPU usage can vary from a norm of 11%-15%, to a very high 80-90%. I can't find any background apps that are running that might cause a high CPU usage. It maybe a ram memory problem, but not sure.
2 weekends ago, I pulled it from my car and did the old windows drive scan for sector errors and defrag. I also uninstall RR, DFX & Winamp. I also made sure I have the latest flash download as of 2 weeks ago. Then a fresh install of all, this did not help at all. Yes when I test my system performance with Carwings, everything is much more snappy. Speed wise with button push's and skin screen changes, it acts as normal.
All I use my car PC is for a car PC (running RR only), and iGuidance navigation. I am hardly on the internet, so I do not suspect any virus's. Most of the time my wireless USB device won't linkup.
So I have a few questions.
1). Is maybe my single core Atom board not enough, or the on board sound device?
2). One of the two ram strips bad?
3). Windows XP flaked out, maybe need to format C: and reinstall?
4). (I hate to say this, but) Is DFX getting bloated, and causing my slow downs? I may go back to an older version of DFX to see if my system runs any faster.
My Charger will be out of commission for the next week in a half while its in the body shop. I am hoping to fix my sluggish problem while I have it out of my car again. I am looking for some suggestions, any help would be great.

Are you using RRVoice by any chance?
And have a lg music collect 18k+? The larger it is the slower it makes rr exec cmds

Nope, not yet. I have not purchased the so called approved mic from the MP3 store yet. But I do remember reading in a few older post, that some were having problems. I will have to check to see if it is enabled.
I have been reading this thread from the beginning, trying to figure out what might be slowing my system. I am @ #886, out of 1305.

Blue, I will have to verify how large my music file is. I have a portion of my entire collection on a separate partition. How come Carwings would run faster with a large collection, but slower with DFX?

That was in reference to the rrvoice question
Also, to the reference that dfx is getting "boated". Every thing that we add is done in the most effecient way to keep things running as fast as possible for the user(s).

Yep, the more I think about it. When I rebuilt two weeks ago, I think I had just over 26K song count when I did the RRDatabase build.
I will have to do some pruning, and see if that helps.
