DFX 5.1.2 Released [ Updated 04-02-12 ]

I'm curious whether anybody has RRVoice working with DFX5. I can't get it to work properly. When I click the mic icon or the mouse button (using RRMousetrap) the following occurs:

1. I do hear a beep
2. Mic icon does not turn green
3. Listening graphic does not appear
4. RRVoice does not go into listening mode.

I can successfully issue voice commands to DFX if I start RRVoice manually from the taskbar, but I cannot do so through a mouse click or by clicking the mic icon in DFX.

I did see Jebus' post a while back about DFX5 not being set up properly to work with RRVoice and containing some modifications, but I thought the updated versions of DFX 5 fixed that. Are those modifications still necessary? (I'm using RR 10/4 and DFX 5.03 with Windows XP.)

I'd be very interested to see what results you get. I've just this second finsihed training another one and it's even worse after training it! I'm using one of these labtec mics. It's so bloody frustrating.

Clearly after watching Johns demo video he's got it working well, so it is possible. Although I'm hesitant to drop £50 on a microphone when I can't get speech to work whatsoever in a silent room with a halfway decent mic.

Yes still needs a line adding to KeyTbl.ini, it's mentioned in the second post, although easily missed.

How do I get the voice recognition to work?
Open the KeyTbl.ini file in the main RideRunner folder in notepad. Put this line in that file:
192,"RRVCON"

Yes, I had already done that. No change.

I have two of the Andreas, one for the desktop and the other for the car. They work extremely well. The recognition is not perfect, but it's certainly in excess of 90% with no special effort to speak the Queen's English. They are the $39 ones from the mp3car store. I didn't have to do anything at all to my soundcard to make these work.

you have to make sure speech sdk is installed before you install dfx skin. when the skin installs, if it prompts you to install the speech sdk then it didnt find the sdk, and it wont install rrvoice all the way.

Is anyone using iGuidance with a line-in device (like HDRadio or XM Radio)? When iGuidance speaks, the music from Winamp pauses or lowers volume (based on the setting I choose). But when I am listenign to HDRadio, line-in does not get muted when iG speaks.

This works fine with CarWings. But if I switch skins to DFX5 (5.0.3), I loose this functionality.

Could anyone else confirm this behavior?

Yes, Trader, SAPI is already installed. As I mentioned in my post, all works well if I start RRVoice listening manually. All worked well with the beta of 5.0 that I was testing, but not working with the released version.

DFX becomes unresponsive when I open the gauges screen and it's receiving data from the GPS device. If I go to the gauges screen without the GPS enabled its fine.

I'm using xport 1.43; GPS device is on COM3 and ouput is on COM8 and COM9. In RRconfig on the GPS screen in the 'Other' section I've 'GPS Port:' set to 8

As soon as you open the gauges screen you're screwed. It shows positive lock on sattelites and elevation info but all the buttons cease functioning leaving you stuck on the screen.
