did you reregister the dll?
look in mydocuments/riderunner/skins/dfx5/plugins/dfx....
there is a plugin that moved, so it needs to reregister
you also might have to check you paths to backgrounds in maybe rr.ini or skin.ini...
in rr.ini the preferred setting is
and let rr manage it
All fixed now,...Thanks Mitch. :yo:
When I start RR, and then hit the "play button", the song progress bar moves as if the song is playing, however there is no sound. If I pause, and then hit play, I still have no sound. The only way that I've found to solve this is if I skip forward a song - I then have sound. This is awfully annoying though as I have to do it every time I start RR in order to play music.
I've never used RR before, and this package seems like the one to run...
Is there anything special I need to know to get started (besides reading these 158 pages)?
Not really, the best bet is just in stall RR, and then use the DFX installer. Once done, Press the "Settings" button on the main menu, then "Global Settings". There you can select the path to your music, videos, playlists and such.
Ok, Now time to ask for a little help here....
I am using DropBox for the automatic updates storage and syncing for DFX. It allows you to sync a folder on your Desktop PC, Smart Phone (iPhone, Android Ect) and it is 100% free. I use DropBox to transfer files to and from my iPhone as well. I can snap a picture, select it, and its automatically put in a folder on my desktop PC. Or, I can drag a couple pictures to the DropBox folder on my desktop, and they are automatically available on my phone as well.
Now, for anyone that signs up for DropBox using MY REFFERAL LINK, will add 250 more megs of storage for the skin files and updates. It would help out the skin having the extra space to save the files, as well as you get somethin in return that is VERY useful!! It's a great place to save important files from your PC such as backups, as well as a way to share files with others. I have all of the PSD's for the DFX skin in a password protected .zip file in the drop box, and never have to worry about a hard drive crash here and losing years worth of work.
Would like to help, John, but I'm already a user of Dropbox. It's a great service.
could use some help troubleshooting my install. I have the latest DFX 5.1 (8/11 release), latest RR and XP. I have reinstalled DFX (full installer) to try and resolve.
I have two problems I'm trying to resolve.
1) menu button changes: when I press a menu button to change to a different button, I hear the beep after a second, but then my system freezes. What is this function trying to call that would cause it to freeze? almost like it can't find a reference or called file?
2) I'm sure I must have missed this searching this thread, but what does it take to get the updater in the latest release to work? when I go to menu 4 and press the updater, all 3 display windows are blank, and nothing happens. I couldn't find anything about the updater in the help file.
Sounds like its getting caught up when its trying to create the btn list, as it does everytime you P&H a menu btn to keep the listing always current. Turn on RR's debug, in the skin.ini under the MISC section, set the DFXDebug=True. Then start up rr and give it a try, attach both your rr debug and the debug.txt found in the dfx5\plugins\dfx5 folder.

Also see if after you do that, you have a "DFXUpdater_debug.txt" file in your dfx5\plugins\dfx\autoupdater folder, if so, attach with the other above files...
