I'm just testing voice now and for some reason when I 'push to talk' the audio playback isn't being muted?

    edit: typo before I mean't RRvoice.ini I did follow the post properly didn't I?

I'm using xport 1.43; GPS device is on COM3 and ouput is on COM8 and COM9. In RRconfig on the GPS screen in the 'Other' section I've 'GPS Port:' set to 8

As soon as you open the gauges screen you're screwed. It shows positive lock on sattelites and elevation info but all the buttons cease functioning leaving you stuck on the screen.

Has nobody else had problems getting it to actually work as intended? And this is in reference to SAPI not RRvoice, from what I tell RRvoice is doing everything it should.

I've trained four or five profiles from scratch now and it's just absolutely useless. I literally can't get it to recognise the word 'artist' the only useful word I can get to work consistently is 'menu'. And this is with the best queens english.

I must be doing something wrong but god knows what! It's driving me up the wall.
Andy, make sure that the commands you are issuing are actually available to RRVoice. If not, the commands won't be recognized. Click on the little RRVoice mic at the right side of taskbar and then click Show RRVoice. This will bring up a window showing commands that can be recognized. It may be that the command isn't available to you rather than a problem with speech recognition. If that turns out to be the case you can then try to figure out why the commands aren't there. I just experienced this. I don't know why the commands that were supposed to be there, weren't, but I was able to sort it out somehow.

I actually did just this, very useful for seeing what's going on/what's being recognised etc. As I said RRvoice seems to be doing everything it should be (except muting audio which it was with DFX 5.0.1?), I actually just got it to 'play artist' a few minutes ago but it was a serious fluke.

Bundled with the SAPI5 SDK there was a little vb program called dictpad which I've been using to test recognition and it's clear that something is very wrong either; with the way I'm training it or as you suggested the microphone.

I've succumbed and ordered the Andrea mic, so that should narrow things down when it arrives.

ok thanks. i finally got things working right again! i had problems with my rrvoice.ini file too. i tried a few things and suddenly i got results i wanted. not sure what i did honestly though. for whatever reason, my stuff isnt doing the same things as what the instructions say should happen.

anyway, it seems to be working really well now. just need to change some commands around to work with what i have. i am able to say the artist, then say the album, and say "next song" when i want to. thats about all i was looking for! now to just comb through my music collection and rename the file structure for better accuracy.

yes you are following things correctly. just set the music path manually. it never changed to the right path for me either, i just do it myself and make sure you hit "set value" in the botton right corner to lock in the setting (using rrvoiceconfig.exe)

also, after you set your music path and run the "create" command, post what you have in your rrvoice.ini file. i have a feeling you might be experiencing the same problem i was....

Remember, If you change your music structure in any way, You must run RRVoiceConfig.exe to scan your music again...
You must also do this with RMDatabase, I believe...

actually i think rmdatabase does it on the fly. ive been impressed by how fast you see music in your browser list after you add it to your music folder, it can be instantaneous at times. not sure how well it catches subtle changes though (like renaming folders... even though i go by id3 tags anyway for the browser)
