After finding out the hard way myself, if you didn't install RR in profile mode, you'll run into problems under Win 7. If that's the case for you, uninstall everything and then re-install RR with profile mode checked.

Hello. Thanx for the tip, but no luck. Must be something else.
I have realised it has nothing to do with DFX 5.1.1 as I have uninstalled averything and with a clean install of RR usin Carwings I have the same problem.
I will research the forum with a different view... concentrating on RR instead of DFX.
    Thanx and rgds

    pd.

ok, I have re-installed the hole lot.... Win7, RR, DFX, Flash, etc etc and all working.......... It was some kind of problem with win7.......
    Thanx

I've done something very stupid, I tried to update to the latest version of DFX and Riderunner! haha

    My problem is DFX crashing/hanging when I press the music button. Here's a rundown of what I've done so far;

    Fresh install with win7 x86

    Chipset drivers etc

    Windows update

    Directx

    Flash 10

    Winamp

    RR 09/01/2011

DFX 5.1.1 and donation patch (reboot)

fixed the lines in exectbl.ini for the closing bug

Start RR, click the music button and... nothing.

    What have I missed?

Scratch that it hangs when I press any button. I've uninstalled DFX and RR/delete folders/reboot and reinstalled same problem. These two programs are the bane of my existence! Suppose I'll format the PC and try again.

Is the audio on your pc working ok regardless of RR and DFX? Looked like something was hanging when it came to the audio player section in your debug. Might be related to something not working correctly either with your audio drivers or winamp output settings.

I had the same problem. chalked it down to the latest winamp not working properly. i used WMP as the media player, and problem went away. Then i installed a not so new winamp, and problem still was gone. i could have went the wrong way about fixing it, but its working fine now. hope that helps

    Hello.
Guess you have the correct paths for music and playlists right?

Okay it just flat out doesn't work so I must be missing something fairly major. It hangs immediately on clicking any button.

I've done two full fresh installs now. After installing windows (7 ultimate x86) and going through windows update I'm; updating dirextx, installing flash (through IE), installing winamp (setting skin to classic) then installing riderunner and dfx.

Am I missing something like .net? Though I think that's included in windows 7?

I'm going to try downloading RR and DFX again maybe they are corrupt? Any input would be greatly appreciated as this is ******* driving me nuts!

Ding ding, we have a winner. I just switched to WMP and it isn't hanging, the problem is with Winamp.

Are there any advantages to using winamp over WMP?

Cool beans! Glad you got it figured out. Now if I could just get S&T to actually embed I'd be getting somewhere .

i didnt notice resume on sleep/hibernate working, mp3 info on MAIN page not displaying at all, or volume via steering wheel controls working properly with WMP (this could be fixed). Try downloading an older version of winamp, that fixed the problem. i always liked winamp vs WMP. Now all i am waiting on is DFXVoice and figuring out a way to use the Wireless app to connect/disconnect from actual networks. for me it ONLY disconnects the wireless card
