As mentioned in earlier posting, I was having an issue with the updater doing nothing when I pressed the button on my 5.1.1 installation. I uninstalled it today and then tried the updater and it worked perfectly. I then applied my patch I bought last year (I think) and after rebooting RR, the splash screen went back to the 5.0 screen, and the updater page looked different and wouldn't work again. Definitely something to do with the patch. Did I miss something in an earlier thread about this?

UPDATE: OK, I found the thread that showed the new patch so let's ignore my question. Recommend that patch fact gets updated in the FAQ.

Check your skin.ini for speedatt=x and delete if found. Also check the skins exectbl.ini, b/c if you use the speedatt screen in the skin, it will save it back to the skin.ini. Look for and change "SAVETOSKIN;speedatt;" to "SAVETOINI;speedatt;"

HOWEVER, changing SpeedAtt= & SpeedAttMute= from FALSE to TRUE in Skin.ini worked (why weren't these settings saved by the program?)

NOW, if we also can find a fix for the no resume problem in CD Changer ...

I'm having terrible problems with weather in the latest release and I don't just mean it rains everyday!
On my xp box, RR hangs on the DFX screen when loading weather and on my Windows 7 box it locks up RR when weather is clicked. Other than that, I'm loving the release, especially the auto updater!
I'm running sept version of RR and the latest and greatest version of DFX.

P.s, Blue if you need a beta tester for dfxvoice, give me a shout! Can't wait to get my hands on it!

Well. as the forums have been a bit slow, I will give you a bit of the inside to DFXVoice while the coding is being completed to keep things rolling.....

It will work very similar to RRVoice and does everything that that is capable of (all of the default DFX commands that worked with RRVoice have been ported over to DFXVoice). There is a lot of new stuff, and huge speed improvements on top of that.

Blue put an ingenious bit of code in place, to play any song or album directly. It works along the lines of:

To play any song in your collection, you follow this syntax:
(you pause for a brief moment between the artist's name, and the song title)

"Direct play Adelle" <Beep> "Song Rolling in the deep".

To play an artist's album, this is the syntax:

"Direct Play Madonna" <beep> "The immaculate collection"

You can still play every single song by any artist with this command:

"Play artist AC DC"

I have around 45,000 songs in my Music collection.... I know a lot..... With DFXVoice I can think of any song or album in my collection, and have it playing in around 3-4 seconds of thinking of it!

Yes, I have already started to do a Post#1 write up for DFXVoice.

DFXVoice sounds great, guys. I'm curious whether we'll have to manually build an index of artist/songs/albums like with RRVoice.

Yes, that part remains the same exept that will be able to be done in skin and in background, possibly after a rrmedia scan is done. And will use tags instead of file names.
