Yes, E is correct. That particular font does not have the degree's ( ) symbol.

You can try to change that symbol to something else in the RR.ini. Look for this line:

    weatherdegrees=

And change the symbol to something else possibly.

As one other option, you can change the font that is used to display the temperature numbers in the skin file. That way you can still use that font throughout the rest of the skin.

By the way, I like that font, what is the name of it?

E, this is a real head scratcer? The character map clearly shows different???

Why doesn't the degree symbol show? I'm stumped.

Thanks, I like it too. It's called ("a_BosaNovaCps" version: 01.03). There's a bold version too which looks nice also. I'm still going to use it, and put up with symbol not showing up right in weather.

    Oh well, .....Thanks anyway gentlemen.

Not quite, if you look at the character map (NB Win 7 here) and arial font, the symbol that looks like the degree symbol is actually called Masculine Ordinal Indicator and is character code ALT+0186, whereas your degree character code is ALT+0176

There I suggest what you do is what John said with the weatherdegrees but after he equals sign hold down the ALT key and then n the numeric keypad type 0176

    weatherdegress=

Here is my ALT+0176 and my ALT+0186

    Thumbs up

E, All fixed now my friend! Thanks a bunch.

Now the question is why was the wrong symbol in the rr.ini in the first place???

    Quite a mystery eh.

It's not that the symbol was in the wrong place in the rr.ini, it is probably a matter that when they made the custom font they put that symbol in the wrong spot.

    Actually I disagree.

ALT0176 is the correct code for the degree symbol, what is probably in the rr.ini is code ALT0186 which is Masculine Ordinal Indicator and whoever first put the code in the RR.ini probably picked the first degree looking symbol they found in the font they had, and got the wrong one.

It will just make a copy of it as a backup when the skin starts, and will be there if ever needed.
Did you manage to implement this?
Im running the latests skin updates but ran out of space again and the skin lost its settings. Looking around the skin folder but cant find a "last known good" settings backup.
Only found skin(orig).ini and using that sets DFx back to defaults. Theres a zip file in !SkinUpdates/backup but doesnt contain a skin.ini file
