I use hibernation all the time and never have an issue with my skin.ini.
But then I don't use DFX.
DFX relies so heavily on it's skin.ini file that it seems more prone to this issue.
You've corrupted your skin.ini. This can happen during an unusual shutdown, but should not happen as a result of normal hibernation. I've hibernated literally thousands of times without problem, but if I do a hard shutdown of the computer, e.g. cut power, while DFX is still loaded, my skin.ini will often fry. Is it possible that you're cutting power before hibernation is fully complete?

I actually keep a good copy of my skin.ini zipped exactly for this, but replacing my corrupted skin.ini with the zipped version didn't resolve the updater issue. I'll have to look again at the skin file. what section would populate the updater buttons in skin.ini? I'm suspecting I also need to set my power controller for a longer delay before cutoff.
This is one thing that I still need to work on, but ATM my focus is on DFXVoice.
Well...I folded. Working on a built-in backup/check/restore, hopefully will rid this issue for good.
Update,
So what I have now is...
At skin startup:
If the current skin.ini size is within +/-10% of the last backed up file size, it creates a backup of the current (only keeps last 3 backups)
If not w/i size limit, then it renames the current skin.ini file, restores from newest backup and reloads the skin with a popup telling you that it restored the skin.ini for you..

RideRunner...The #1 FE, PERIOD.

Also, you're updater issue is gonna be only one of two things, but in your case only one. The Btns and labels are done in the skin plugin, so that pretty much means that you have an older skin plugin dll, unless the skin plugin is crashing somewhere causing it to stop working after resume.

So now DFX on my laptop has a blank updater skin in addition to my carputer. I'm lost. You mentioned I may have an older version. my dfx5.dll shows version 1.0.0.0 in the \my documents\riderunner\skins\dfx5\plugins\dfx folder. is that correct or old? not sure how it can be working then bamm, not work.
