Thread: DFX 5.1.2 Released [ Updated 04-02-12 ]

Fixed... I changed the location of the Alt db path under rrmediadb settings plugin mgr

The last time I was messing around with this stuff was on Windows XP with DFX4 so I am very sorry if I missed something, but I am having a problem and have been searching on here for hours with no avail.

I have a newly installed PC with Windows 7 32bit. I have installed the latest version of RR and DFX 5.1.1. I have done all the updates, etc, installed iGuidance2011 and have my GPS working with Xport. My gauge screen works as well and shows the satellites locked, etc.

The problem I am having is I have no idea at all how to make the weather work, and get the gauge screen to pull up the county, city, etc information.

For the weather it doesn't matter what I try I cannot get anything to show up for my city. Even if I click on the 5 buttons at the top and type in my city name it never gets saved and remains blank.

As for listing my location I have confirmed my zips.dat is in the right place in the Documents\RideRunner folder. I looked at my old rr.ini config from DFX4 to see if I am missing anything, but it has changed so much I have no idea what I need to change in the new one.

Can someone please help me out with these issues? After hours of searching I know I must be doing something wrong or need to change a config.

Weather in RR has been broken for a while. Weather.com, from which the data was obtained, started charging a hefty fee for accessing the data. Guino has done a new weather plugin beta that you can find here. I haven't tried it yet so I don't know how well it's working.

Thanks a bunch now I don't feel so bad lol after looking for an answer.

So is there still a way to get the gauge screen to read your city state and zipcode from the zips.dat file then? Thats really the only other trouble I am having. I am in the US so I know it should work.

Yes. Are you using the GPS2City plugin from this page? If not, you should be.

I'm working trying to get a couple of features working in the skin, the first is getting Battery & mobile signal working, I've got the mobilephone.net installed and bluesoleil 8.0.376.0. BT works fine and I can make calls OK, but would like this to work if possible.

Next question is about the Mini_Cam.skin, I wonder if this could be edited to just have 1 camera working in one window rather than having all 4 windows and 4 copies of MiniCam running

Yes, but not as its is coded, we should probably change it so that it will default to only 1 camera showing, as majority of users would more than likely, only have one anyway. I'll put it on the "To look at" list.

Thanks, think in future I may do multi cameras option, but for the moment I'm just using one for reversing.

Any idea getting the battery & signal bars working in DFX?
