Another bug, the new weather plugin 1) on windows XP does not like the profile mode, even with the wunderground api key there nothing happens. 2) In normal mode (after reinstalling) it finds NY, NY and loads great. However, if you click/hold and change the city it takes the first city from the first preset. Subsequent click/holds to enter other preset cities do not work. RE-loading the information for the first city it did find, it pulls down a good xml, but doesn't update in the skin for some reason.

Edit: well figured it out, you have to delete myweather.xml and mywsearch.xml before you load the next city. However i don't have the source to modify the weather script.

Its really hard to provide any help when given a statement like that... the skin originally/still comes stocked to run RRVoice. DFXVoice is still in its beta stage and I have not released a DFX settings file to go with this skin as of yet. So, you need to be more detailed as to which of the two plugins you are in fact running.

I should add I check the recycle bin and check my disk for bad sectors and the event log, it's all clean.

No, usually users only bring up a corupt skin.ini issue, nothing like that! WOW..

Yes, that is currently broken, and has been brought up a couple of times now...and that was mostly used before the newer menu button chooser popup menu list feature. Its on the back burner of things to look at/fix.

I'm pretty sure that was fixed in one of the skin updates. Is your skin up to date? (2-10-2012) You also didn't mention from what RR version you upgraded from. Otherwise, we have another problem again b/c of an RR update.

Just made an update that added better err handling in DFXSpeak

Here is a little more info.
For years I have been using RRVoice with the old BMV2 SKIN. Last year or so I changed to the DFX skin (Great skin). RRvoice plugin is not included with the DFX skin correct? If it is I don't know how to set it up then.
I then downloaded the RRVoice plugin from the RRVoice thread and put that into the plugin folder of the DFX skin. There was already a named folder "RRVoice" with a couple files (1 or 2 files) (not the whole plugin) in the DFX Skin plugin folder. I then setup the plugin and it worked good on my XP machine until now except for a few minor things.

Hope this does not get too confusing but..
I mostly use my remorte to activate RRVoice and it always worked except latley when saying those few commands that it needs to speak back to you. But I if I press on the little microphone on the DFX skin it never works now. (even on the fresh RR & DFX install that I just did, see below All I get is the "ding" sound (it used to at sometime in the past work) but I never would get the big microphone in the center of the page with the remote or without. (It did at one point work at the very beginning).


Yesterday I did not reinstall Windows but... I uninstalled the DFX Skin and renamed the Riderunner folder "C:\program files" & the RideRunner folder in the "Documents folder" and reinstalled everything and the same result of it not working like stated above.

The only thing that might have changed since it was working is I installed some Windows updates but not sure if I did or not.

Any more info needed?

The reason that the click on the menu mike now longer works is if you have done the skin updates, the updated included a swap to the newer DFXVoice plugin cmds for that indicator, along with other under the hood mods. The skin now only comes with plugins that either me or John have done, all others have to be DL'd and installed the user, skin still supports them, just doesn't come with them. If you look in the TopIndicators.txt in the skin folder towards the bottom you will see both sets of cmds, one's commented out the other is not.

Where is the correct place to install the RRVoive plugin when using the DFX skin?
1: DFX skin plugin folder "My Documents\RideRunner\Skins\DFX\Plugins"
2: RideRunner plugin folder "C:\Program files\Riderunner"
3: RideRunner Plugin folder "My Documents\RideRunner\plugins"
4: Don't matter?
