I am seeing the same thing with the layout changing. I just put it back to the default layout so I wouldn't see it anymore!!

Er...Um.... a DFX poltergeist maybe? hehe.... Really, I have no idea and don't recall seeing this yet, though can check into it. Do you use the switch users feature that might cause this...

Glad to hear the Andrea made a difference. I have the Andrea velcroed to my steering column. I did notice more mistakes once it was in the car and I was at highway speed. I then reconfigured the mic while at highway speed - you know, the part where you read the sentence and it adjusts the volume - and it dramatically increased the accuracy. I am now at nearly 100% recognition at highway speed. Granted, I have a pretty quiet car, but reconfiguring at speed did seem to make a big difference.

I have a problem with video now, it seems the controls never hide or work at all, (unresponsive)
I have to shut down RR with the task manager to get out of the video player,
I am using media player classic 6.4.9
Did exactly the same thing!
I used a couple of double backed sticky foam pads and stuck the mic itself to my reaview mirror. Went through the training session while parked and had trouble getting through it, had to skip a lot of words. Result was mediocre accuracy while parked and very poor while driving.
As you suggest I set up a new profile while on the move and breezed through the intro text. I haven't tested it extensively nut I had a dictation pad open on the way home from work this afternoon and accuracy seems pretty damn good. I need to get cabling for my space navigator routed as I'll be using that to activate.
I think I need to print out a cheat sheet with the available built-in commands. 'what can I say' is handy but find scrolling down through the hundreds of 'play artist ....' a bit of a pain.
Also not sure where I went wrong building the RRvoice.ini but when i speak 'play artist ....' some work and some don't. I'll have to try it again I'm sure there was a post saying you had to run RRvoiceConfig while RR was running can't find it now though. Could someone confirm as this could be my problem.
Oh one small oddity, the greeting at startup seems to be confused. It's been one day too fast all week. So this morning it reported 'good morning, it is Friday the 14th of October 2010' or something to that effect. Actually thinking about it... does it say the month? I could have the month set wrong on my calandar.... I'll have to check. I'm sure it's wrong though.
I experienced this also. Not sure what exactly fixed it but I've got three versions of mpc floating around on the system drive. One in the riderunner folder, one in the klite codec pack folder and one in \program files\media player classic.
Since I installed I had video set to 'built in player' and the path pointing to the one in the riderunner folder and it was working up until today, same symptoms as dawnn. I went in to RRconfig and changed from 'built in player' to 'media player classic' and pointed it to the exec that was installed in the klite codec pack. Started RR and it played video but I couldn't skip postion and the player didnt fill the screen. I then went back in to RRconfig and changed the player dropdown box back to 'built in player' and path to c:\program files\media player classic and it works again. I'm not sure where that particular folder came from but I haven't installed anything other than winamp\riderunner\dfx\klite and system drivers of course.
