DFX 5.1.2 Released [ Updated 04-02-12 ]

Whenever I have this sort of problem, I do a complete removal of both RR and DFX and reinstall. Make sure you re-download RR and DFX also. There are some issues that no matter the amount of debugging you do, it is just easier and more efficient to do a reinstall. I had an issue the other day where the Media Database was not working at all, even after reinstalling DFX, so uninstall all and then reinstall and problem solved. Don't know that I would have ever found the issue otherwise.

That's what I did, and it caused this problem. I was having another problem where it wasn't even playing music or something.

I redownloaded them from the nisu automotive page and the appmart for DFX and now I'm having this problem..

When in windows always remember to do the the three R's first, only then waste time debugging: Reboot, Reformat, Reinstall

That may explain a bit of this then.

Is the patch now redundant? I see no updated release in the app mart for 5.1.2, just 5.1.1R, which was used.

It is my understanding that the donation patch is no longer needed with the most recent version of DFX 5.1.2

No I did not use the donation patch and no the donation patch is no longer needed; the splash screen has been removed

Redid DFX install, solved most of the issues I was having of course, since it is now using the right dll.

Still do get random app crashes from RR with the DFX skin though (but was occurring previously, just thought it was something I did wrong). Constant with a couple of the plugins such as RRpandora. Let me know if you need any further debug info Blue.

Are you saying there's a redone installer or are you saying you just reinstalled it with the installer on the app mart like i did? Because reinstalling for me does nothing, even after i search the entire hard drive of RR and DFX traces to ensure a full uninstall before reinstallation.

Just redoing the DFX install, 5.1.2 version.

I have all but a couple of the plugins disabled however. They were causing an appcrash for me every time with my incorrect install. I even removed the base directory(C:\program files (x86)\riderunner\plugins) applicable plugins to stop it, as simply telling them not to load didn't do it.
I have not had time to go through them one by one since re-doing this. GPSlocation, DFX, and RRextended I think are the only ones I have enabled.

I still got 2 app crashes so far upon trying to close RR though, so it's still there, randomly. It has been doing this to me randomly from the start since I decided to go with win7 64bit, I assume since it's fine in car wings, it's something to do with DFX specifically, but it's just been an annoyance that I've put up with.

Sometimes it's when closing via menu, sometimes when trying to increase the volume, sometimes when trying to decrease it, etc.. But on the whole it is working fine now that I re-installed, just DFX, not RR. RR is still the june version in my install.
