DFX 5.1.2 Released [ Updated 04-02-12 ]

Usually thats the first thing i tried...no idea why i didnt this time! lol

So after a full re-install using a default setings rr.ini file rr with dfx will get pasted that screen but rr doesnt work - i can see the basic layout but parts are see through and showing the desktop

If i replace my back-up of my old rr.ini file it gets stuck at the loading screen again....

I prob should have mentioned im running windows 7 64 bit

also should add i have no issues loading RR with either rr.ini files in carwings

Try it with the Carwings skin that comes with RR. That will at least show whether it's a skin issue or a RR issue. Then we can go from there.

Somehow, although I'm not sure how, the skins now working fine lol. Thanks for your help :-)

Sigh, OK so Im having issues with the launch menu only in dfx.

Its not launching calculator or notepad or my own app however these work in car wings and other skins.

Basically when I select an app and select run nothing happens.

Any ideas?

I am having a freezing issue on a fresh install. Everything works in carwings though. It freezes randomly after the loading screen never loading the main menu. I have tried fresh installs right down to Windows 7. I tracked it down to when I enable the startup volume. If I leave it disabled all is well but when I set it at anything the skin hangs. Brand new motherboard (d2700mud) with correct audio drivers...not the Windows ones. Any ideas?

I blame any errors on auto correct...since I an sending this from my Galaxy S3

Did a quick search of this thread and didn't see anyone else having an issue; I posted this same issue in the general RR section, but was referred here, so I'll reiterate what I originally posted.


I have the DFX plugin (v5.1.2R build 2\1\2013) and it's a fresh install of both the skin + RR.

No matter how much I clean out and make sure it's a fresh install (when doing stuff like updating RR because of a new version and getting nagged that it's out of date) I still get this problem.

Here's the error message (and I will include a screen shot of it):
"RideRunner screen loading error!
While loading: menu1.skin
menu1.skin not found."

This happens when I tap on "Menu" to go between the 4 different menus within DFX.

Any ideas?

In your dfx5 folder you should have menu.skin & several menux.skin's where x is 2 - 6.

And in your menu.skin file, depending on which skin build you got, you should have one of two lines:

[OLDER]
B10,0,526,101,73,"LOAD;menu2.skin",""

[NEWER]
B10,0,526,101,73,"DFX_MainMenuNext",@SetMenuScreen Limit@

So i'm not sure where exactly its getting menu1.skin from

Also try setting one of the menu btns to Skin Update and get the skin up to date if you haven't done so... It may just fix this issue as well as bring the skin current.

1) I don't have a menu.skin file, just the subsequent files, menuX.skin (where X is 2-6)
2) this is a FRESH install of both RR and DFX, it's the 3\1\2013 DFX install and the March RR install
3) I already tried using the "Skin Update" feature within the skin, clicking the buttons don't do anything. Also, I couldn't assign one of the buttons to the "Skin Update" function, that's another issue it's having; normally you can long press on one of them and change its functionality to something else, but when I long press, nothing happens. I had to use the one already on page 4 by default (the "Skin Update" button)
4) It's NOT installed in "profile" mode

Where can I get the menu.skin file? Because the installer is not installing it properly
