hehe, i figured it out, based on a OLD OLD OLD OLD skin, the origional mediacar one
which used all the features of the sliders (since our newer skins didnt)
and figured out the DOCUMENTATION in RR is backwards
so i sorted it, and now the update is posting soon
and you can leave ur skins alone...
there is a bounds check, so at least if u try to make the image area of the slider outside the button area, it caps it to button area
it also wont hurt if u changed them!
I'm having an issue with the star playlist buttons that are in the ratings popup window. I just recently reinstalled RR (latest) and DFX5 (latest) to resolve some issues, and rebuilt my media database. I was having issues with activating the star playlists (ie 5 star playlist) with a com error popping up, and then bizarre uncontrolled scrolling in the browse window. this is now persisting, and my guess is there is some resilient and corrupt file that the star playlists referred to. If I'm right, where do I find them, and rebuild them? When I rebuild the database by the way, the import ratings playlist task fails.
Hi mate....i am new to this software so sorry if I an wrong but I am very sure there is a separate ratings file in the root folder of your music path along with the databade file....maybe you can delete it as it will have nothing to import when rebuilding your database then......
The importing playlist "task" is only there for two reasons, 1) it would try to add ratings to songs from the older song rating plugin that sonic made ages ago if it found any "x star.m3u" playlists while scaning for media, 2) upon a freash scan where user only deletes the db, it will readd the previous ratings back the songs, using the 'rate.in_' backup file. I will check that issue with the com err on rating playlists, I do know that I seen that same err and am pretty sure that i fixed it (or did i completely for get about it?). Anyhoo, I'll recheck it and get it taken care of with v2.0.
Ok guys. Had my setup all going, was a bit slow between skins and awaiting voice commands, so reformatted and starting from scratch again. So far so good. Until....
This time when i've installed the latest DFX, it seems I've hit a "Feature" that didn't occur last time. Whenever RideRunner loads up with DFX skin, it automatically goes to the "your system is locked" screen. Any ideas how to fix this? I'm still looking around.....
Any help would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I guess i'll try reinstalling the skin for a 3rd time....
Nevermind, found it. For those who have the same problem:
Inside EXECTBL.INI within the skins\dfx root dir:
Under commands executed on initialization delete |relock|
Or you could have just typed 1234 and it would have not come back up till you locked it again. Hint: by clicking where the "Album:" label is, is how you lock it... ;)
When I started up my carpc today, this is what DFX looked like. Subsequent restarts didn't help. Anybody know what may have happened and how to fix it? Thanks...
You have corrupted your skin.ini file somehow, probably as a result of a hard shutdown. It has happened to me a few times. I now keep a backup of skin.ini to throw in if it happens. Before I started doing that, I had some success with system restore bringing it back. You might want to give that a try.
Okay cool, I'll try that. Thanks...
