Record Feature in DFX5

I wanted to know if there is a certain way to setup the record feature in DFX5. I am able to see and select a record option (Line Volume, Mic Volume and Stereo Mix) but using any of those selections give me "Could not initiate the encoder". Are there files I am missing or need to setup to get this to work?

Did anyone have any problems with ImageViewer lately? For some reason bottom buttons don't work for next/prev, slideshow etc. I do see all my pics listed, so setup in ImageViewer Config.ini is correct, or did I miss something else? Also ImageViewer doesn't close after RR/DFX is closed. :confused:

Known issue, and will be in the patch.

This means that you are missing the codec that is being used to rec with. I did have this issue at one point but forget which one fixed the issue. Besides, at some point, dfx will have it's own audio recorder function, so that we can move away from using others plugins and dealing with issues that come with such.

If you are using a GPS Application, such as iGuidance, Map Point, Destinator ect, and want to use the gauges as well, you will need to use a com port splitter.

A port splitter allows you to take a single GPS receiver, and send that information to multiple virtual com ports for use by other applications. One of the most popular, is Xport. XPort3 is located where you installed the skin in the:

DigitalFX\Helper Files folder

I installed iGuidance 8. Xport seems to be working fine until my device looses power. When this happens I have to re-configure Xport, apparently it only retains its settings if the device is properly shut down or put into hibernation....weird. Do you know if this is common behavior?

On another note - would you happen to know how I can include Canadian cities for the weather plugin?

For the standard Weather plugin, go to weather.com and find the closest city to you that works.

Enter that info into RRConfig.

DFX5 extended weather may need other settings changed
