DFX 5.1.2 Released [ Updated 04-02-12 ]

I use the CNSV Onscreen Keyboard and it works pretty well. When you click into a text field an icon will pop up that you press if you want to use it. You can find it in the DFX4 mega-thread:

Did i read that there will be a new release or am i dreaming it. I thought i read something about installers being tested?

Yes, there is a patch in the beta stage right now, and should be out soon. It fixes a lot of little bugs, and adds some new features as well.

John, does one of the fixes address the "Recording" feature or is there a new feature for this?

A while back Mitch fixed a bug in RR so that the web browser would stay on top of the skin, but for a while now I am still having this problem. I finally got around to doing some testing and the problem only happens with DFX, but I did see it in DFX4 as well as now with DFX5.

I use Firefox, and initially it will show up but if I press the Fav's button then it disappears behind the skin. If I touch the empty space it will come back, and sometimes FF got the key via Sendkey and sometimes it didn't. I also have a pop-up for quickly picking a site called Site Launcher and it does the same thing.

Anyone else have this problem? I tested it with another skin and it worked perfectly.

@zogg,

I recall having that problem in the past, but don't think I'm having it now. I'll double check and if it works try to figure out what I might have done to fix it.

By the way, you may also want to take a look at the Speed Dial plugin for Firefox. It allows you to access your favorite websites with one touch of the screen. I see the one you're using requires a keyboard.

I use this plug-in too in Firefox also. No, you don't need a keyboard using site launcher. There is a drop-down blue arrow on top toolbar to access your favorite sites. I don't use Firefox anymore for my Carpcs. I use Fennec now, which works great with a touch screen. Try Fennec, ya' might like it/maybe not.

Ya, the Fennec browser is much nicer now that they have worked on it a bit more.. Even allowing to add some of your fav FF plugins for it. And build right in to the skin.

Maybe I'm just dense, but I can't figure out how to use it.

No, but that PI's author has talked to by a third party, trying to ease the tension that was previously created and gained some ground..... what it really boiled down to was not having his PI's included with the installer. Skin will still support them, or till we create our own builtin versions, so the user will have to DL on their own and install accordingly.
