My skin - without name

Hi, I'm currently working on a skin of mine.

It's in 1024x768 resolution.

It's not done yet,, I have only made some screens working in RR so far, pitures below are from running RR.

I've made some big changes to the skin... see post 9 :)

Good effort, the only thing i see is that there's not enough contrast and the words on top the icons looks weird.

It will be interesting to see iTunes integraded and working - a first!

Truly just use icons with no words for your menu selection it will look much better.

Also why are you trying to embed an external media player.
RR uses winamp and it works pretty good. I understand the uses for itunes but unless you truly plan on having an internet connection in your car (most dont) what is the use.
If I was you I would scrap that idea.

Also the high resolution is useless as well. The screen you use in your car is only 7". 800X600 seems to work great for our uses. This will help on keeping your image files small which may increase RR performance.

There are many things to say about skins.

Among them are


1. Everyone will have a different thing to say about the same skin
2. Some skins look absolutely amazing as graphics in a thread but crap in the car
3 Some skins look crap in a thread but work great in the car.
4. some are just goddamn awful.
5. some take your breath away
6. Some make you reach for the sunglasses
7. Others make you want to scratch your eyes out with a rusty nail


But that's enough about thundersticks skins, lets talk about this skin.

Ok, I've now made som big modifications on the skin and come up with a new design that is almost ready to use and share. :)

I got some critisism on the last layout I made and have now looked into that.

Music screen, integrated with iTunes istead of Winamp, not exactly the same setup, the iTunes window is embedded in RR but the Play/Pause, Next and Previous buttons in the skin are working without a glitch and controll iTunes silently :)

On this image you see how the volume is changed on the computer, it's controlled by VoluMouse and in the car a volum knob will be integrated:
