DMC - Delorean Skin in process

Hey all, This is my first attempt at this and I would like to share it with you.

First off I do not have a Delorean yet, but hopefully soon. So I wanted to get a jump start in everything so there is less work to do when I do get it.

I am planning to use a lot of fusion brain stuff so I have a lot of options on this skin that only apply to my setup. I am going to be developing some solid state hardware and custom software that RR will interact with, but that is for a later date. Right now I am focusing on making a working skin since that is the Hub for the whole operation.

Now, the skin. Sorry for the long post.

I went with a very minimal OEM look. I wanted it to look much like a setup in today's luxury cars. I think the gray and black accent the car well.

most of all the controls for the car are non working of course, but when I have the hardware going, I can just plug the commands into the buttons and be up and running. I still have a lot to learn

Also all of this is made by me by scratch (accept for some of the ISO standard Icons) any DMC style icons where made by me.

    Startup

Main Menu I do not own this dmc picture so it is just a place holder. That will be changed once I obtain mine...

-I don't like my night icon so that will be changed sometime
-The inside and outside temps are next to the clock
-the music note icon at the bottom always goes to the music player.
-will be adding more Indicators to the top as time passes too.

"extras" I'm not happy with the name or icons those will change and I will most likely call it "apps"

    Lighting

Nothing much to say here, I lit the fog lamp indicator in this shot. I haven't finished the other menus for the lighting section yet. This is my favorite, I like how the lights in the refection came out.

    HVAC

This is the climate control menu. The delorean has standard dails for the HVAC system. I am going to update it with custom hardware with servo motors.

-The strange icons are adapted from the ones in the actaul car.
-The "screen" with the fan speed and temp with display that data, it is off in this example

Car Control This is fusion brain central. Great for controlling remotely. I missed a few things so it will change too.

Wipers The delorean doesn't have a interment option on the windshield wipers, so I added one. I may have some hardware issues with this idea so it may not happen.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    Audio and Video Player

    You all know these.....
I am not happy with all the library and play-list skins, so I will be changing them but the concept will stay the same.

    ......mmmm Bugatti Veyron

Thats it for now, be gentle, this is my first skin
I will be releasing a more general version once it is finished. I remove all the crazy fusion brain stuff and make skins fore plugins I don't use but other people do. That is if anyone wants it.

Thanks I would love to hear what you all think.
    -Kevin

I think it is an extremely clean layout - Delorean or not! Well done.

I do think it ought to have that time circuits look and color though....:-)

On the side view of the car, I'd use either a side or top plan view with just line drawings. All that other rendering of the car detracts from the clean image of the skin.

    Thank you,
Good point on the car drawings, I kinda didn't like the way it came out, I like the one on the lights screen I might use that one for all menus. with little color extra too.

The lights screen one is the right size but it's just a little busy with the seat and body side molding on it. Your taste, of course, but I love the simplicity of the icons you have for the buttons like fan and engine and so on. I'd simplify the car drawing to match more closely with those.

    Really nice looking skin.

Theres only one thing that comes to my mind.
Are you going to trust windows to control your whole car?
Think about a microsoft error when you are screaming down the highway.
All of a sudden your computer decides its time to open your doors with lights flashing and horn screaming
