Thank you machinehead !
I've already two pb on my config :
Weather : to resolve the bug with "gifswfsh.exe", i reinstall XP.
now all the 3 maps works fine, the "live" view works fine too, but the weather info don't works : when i push "1day" or "5days" buttons there is nothing on screen ...
Music : I've installed the visualization on winamp, it's work very fine on the player screen, but on the main screen, when i push on the hidden button (on the clock) to activate the visualization, RR crash and quit... <--- EDIT : Ok i Found the solution, it was the flash clock...!!
Thank you for help me
First, sorry I have not been as active in this thread as I should be :) I have been working on all the little things in the skin, trying to get the next release out to you guys. There are going to be a few things you have yet to see in any other Road Runner skin :)
The first one, is an answer to an age old problem. Screen gamma! I have always hated trying to set it up correctly, and the different settings for the 3 stages ect ect....
I put together something with the custom slider functions in Road Runner, and an AutoIt overlay script. BlueZX3 helped with the GUI Click through state, without which, this would not have worked.
Basically its a simple slider to adjust the brightness of Road Runner. It reads the general.ini and overlays the correct area of the screen. If you use it on your desktop system for instance, only RR will be darkened, and not the rest of the screen like Gamma does.
Here are 2 screen caps of it in action:
This is with 7% overlay, barely noticeable.....
This is with 68% dimming of Road Runner.
I have been tweaking just about everything from the weather, to scripts and what not throughout the whole skin.
Weather for instance will now center the "Live View: map. It will do one of 3 things:
1) If you set your Lat, Lon & zoom level in the ini, it will center on that area and zoom level.
2) It gets your Lat & Lon from RR if #1 is not set.
3) If neither 1 or 2 are available, it will Start with it showing the entire US. (Sorry, Weather.com is not yet supporting radar overlays for over seas.
Next, the solid sliders you see above, are now dynamic! (MANY Thanks to BlueZX3 for putting this one together!!!!) Dynamic meaning, you can use the color palette in the skin to choose a color, and set that color for the sliders and pointer.
On that note, the Color palette is no longer flash based. I rewrote it to be faster and more native to Road Runner.
Lastly for the major updates, the skin now has "Fast user switching". There are 6 presets that can be named / renamed by holding down that preset button. When you save a preset, just about everything in the skin is saved. To include, menu button locations, BG color / wallpaper, menu layout, your 2D / 3D logo, Font Colors, Slider Colors, Radio Presets, Mixer settings, Favorite Weather Cities, Playlists, Songs on the 10 Disk Changer (BlueZX3's Media Database Plugin).... you get the idea... everything :)
This is great to get it set the way you want, and save it to one of the presets. Then someone either gets in the car and messes everything up, or you show em how you can change logo's, colors and such.... When you are done, just a simple tap of the screen will put everytying back to the way it was :) Also very handy if others drive your car, you can all have your favorite radio stations, playlists and colors avail at a tap of the screen.
So trust me, I have not forgotten the update, and have been working on it whenever I get a free moment. I do not have a date yet, but I do hope to get it completed as soon as possible.
my oh my most excellent!
One question, on some other weather skins I have noticed that the 1 day weather show's the day's Hi / Low / and Current I am not sure if the current 1 day skin shows all three. May be it does and my memory is lacking..
Looks real good John. It'll be nice to have brightness controls.
I live in Phoenix AZ so that "Brightness" is going to be a life saver... Thanks a lot. One question.. Will RR be updated by the time of the release? As far as i understood the weather was fixed but some of the functions were sacrificed. Thanks.
The latest version of RR fixes the weather, as well as a lot of other little things. The one you are referring to was the one that I fixed the weather in a couple months back, with the old November source code. Since then, Guino put out a beta that fixes it with the latest source code that he has. It is avail for download in the stickies at the top of the RR forums.
Man, I have the utmost respect for you for living there :D I tried it for 1 year when I moved my mom out there to be closer to most of the family. When she was all settled, and I got a feel for Phoenix, I moved right back to Florida! When I checked the weather last week there, it was 101 degrees... at midnight local Phoenix time!
wow awesome!!! I have been working lately to tweak my screen to the best brightness/contrast so that I can see it during the day and not be blinded at night by its brightness. This will be so helpful!!
Amazing, John. Can't wait.
