thanks John and Blue...amazing work
the new interface looks great. another incredible step. I'm only having a problem with the RRMedia database so far.
At first I added all 16K+ songs and it gets stuck at 77% 12566/16572. so i close out of DFX, delete the database, go to builder.ini and set the ScanComplete = False. I try again and same problem. I read above, that there might be a problem with one of my tags or files so I figured I would add in each folder to the database 1 by 1 to figure out what folder maybe the culprit. This is where it gets funky and maybe Blue you can explain it.
If I initially add 5000 songs, the database finishes with no problems at all. Then I add another 2000 songs, the database starts looking for new songs at 85% and the build adds those 2000 songs in a matter of a few minutes. Then I try to add another 2000 songs. This time the database goes through all the songs again starting at 1% and it takes significantly longer than the initial database build. I say it takes longer because if I delete the database and start over from scratch, I add 10K to initially be scanned into the database, and it takes less time to put in the 10K than it would the additional 2K on the 3rd rebuild.
Maybe it's just my system, but I don't know why after I click Re-Scan the database for the 3rd time it tends to crash out the system and the build never finishes. I will try to keep you updated on my progress.
BTW, I can't believe you released this during the same time as Shark Week, i'm torn between the two.
Quick question.
How long does it take to build the database? does it happen everytime it loads?
What if i reboot the PC while it is still building?
I have ALOT <crapload actually> of mp3's and i wanted to get an idea before i try to install dfx4 tonight.
ANy rough estimate on the time it might take? Will i know if it is still in the process of indexing at all?

Was wondering how long before something crept up during a rescan...
The builder app on a rescan has been the biggest PIMA!! Yes, you could just delete the db and just do a full import when you add more media. The only things you really loose by doing this would the number times played (used for the Top x songs feature) and being able to browse by recently added as everything woud always be added at the same time.. As long as the ONLY thing you delete is the db file, you will not loose your ratings or disks (backed up before had and restore after rebuilding)
I guess I'm off toon the buider app some more...

Trying to setup a user name and password in bugtracker. Unable to register. Anyone else having problems with this? Thanks
I'm having trouble getting the database to work for me. The scan works and the database builds correctly, but when i use the new browser screen, "Search" for anything yields no results, and trying to browse by anything other than "Folder" shows no entries on the browser window.
My Music folder structure is:
D:\Music\Sorted\[Artist]\[Album]\[Track#]-[Artist]-[Title]
D:\Music\~new\ (for unsorted music)
D:\Music\~playlists\
So browsing by "Folder" shows Sorted, ~new, and ~playlists, but switching over to browse by Artist, Album, etc doesn't give me anything. Do I have something set up wrong?

Yea, I see there are issues right now with the registering.... I hope to have it fixed soon.
Do you have your MP3's tagged? The builder looks at the tags in each individual song to get the artist, title, genre and all the other stuff.
