You're right..... I am a MRI technologist by day, a music composer/ producer in the evening, and a father to 3 girls and a husband to a patient wife at night. I'm fairly new to all of this. I enjoy a challenge and I have a great willingness to learn. I really enjoy the challenges that rr has put before me in the past months, and yes I have researched and read all help files and many post on any thing that I have posted on.

As you might see, I have been a member for over four months and have not posted a single thread or reply before a couple of days ago because I believe in the "Search" function and knowing that anything that I have to ask probably has been asked before.

No I might not have the "Programmer's" gift, but I have gift of knowledge and learning. Not everyone was born knowing how to code, but all of you learned at some point in your life.

And John, the skin is GREAT! Don't change a thing, Let us newbs figure out how to implement and fix these things amongst one another. At least you gave us a headstart. God Bless....

Mine blink too but i know it's because of my laptop where i load and test all kind of other junk, so there's probably some kind of conflict or setting in windows that ain't right.

In DFX3 the mp3art also blinked on the laptop but in the truck, it worked fine; i would say it's because i don't have any junk installed except the bare minimum and absolutely necessary.

We'll see when i make the changes and load DFX4 in the truck tomorrow.
That is the Key....Evidentely I didn't remove it (X,MP3Art) from the plugins.txt like I thought.

It works now.... I put "X,Mp3Art" inthe menu.skin file directly below the "INC,Plugins.txt" line after removing the "X,MP3ART" from the Plugins.txt.

John, I don't know if capilatization has anything to do with coding, but the dll file is "Mp3Art" not "MP3ART", not sure as I know nothing about coding but this worked for me.

    Hopes this helps....

    Dayummm I Luv this Skin.....!

P.S. I'm also using Vista with no problems or glitches from this skin or RR, except for the volume controls.....

Can't blame you for this John....this idea is exactly the same one I have while developing my skin....I'll give people the psd's (or in my case PSP's since I use paint shop pro) and they can make whatever screens they desire for whichever plug-ins/programs they want...

it's hard enough to work the bugs out of the skin itself without trying to debug plug-ins and other programs...

I would rather put out a skin that I know will work with default settings (sans a few progs like iG) than have a thread with people complaining that plug-ins not developed by me not working...

no offense to anyone at all (especially John since you have soooo many features in your skin)

to all forum members....PLEASE...use the search button...it's there for a reason...if everyone just asked the same questions all the time, this forum would be flooded with the same useless crap....

John, your skins have always been amazing, and this one is no different, but I can definitely see where you are coming from with your response

As a newbie I have to disagree. The main thing that drew me to DFX in the first place was the options of different plugins and the integration of different apps upon install. Sure newbs are going to have problems, that's what forums are for. Ask or "SEARCH" and find solutions.

I really don't think people were complaining, just looking to peers for solutions to isolated issues. I bypassed many skins because of the low thread count and me thinking if I, as a newb, had any concerns or issues with the skin, I may not find the answers. After looking in the DFX2 and DFX3/4 threads and saw how many people were willing to help with certain issues were a deciding factor on the skin I chose.

And I personally would not expect John to answer any questions I have, only users who may have experienced the same issues and found simple solutions....

Once again John, I wouldn't change a single thing....

I agree.. I am no rocket scientist, I'm a Paramedic. But I am not too bad with computers either. If someone can install a Computer and touch screen in there vehicle they have to know a little something. I understand there is help every where and a help file included. Sometimes they way you explain it might not work for the next guy. Be patient with us, after all, it seems easy to you...You wrote it. Thanks for all the help. Without this thread I'd be playing MP3's manually with winamp stand alone.

Ok, so I was in a bit of a mood last night, sorry It just seems to get a bit overwhelming at times I guess. I guess I just needed to vent a little bit, and I must say, I do feel better now

Please never feel threatened to post in this thread, I guess I just ask that you read up a bit, to see if the question or topic has been covered in the thread, Help File, Bug Tracker, and Faq's.

As for programmer, Hah! that's not me, I get by, and can muddle things together here and there, but I am certainly no programmer. Just ask BlueZX3 that I am always hammering with AutoIt questions Heck I did not know what AutoIt was just a little over a year ago!

So appolagies all around, I did not mean to offend or scare anyone off.

John, do you think it would make sense to have a separate thread for DFX 4.0? I can see some people being daunted by the prospect of going through thousands of posts for an answer.

To the newbs, please read through at a minimum the past five or so pages of posts before posting a question. Often, I see people ask a question that has been answered just a page or two earlier, making it obvious that the poster made no effort whatsoever to find the answer (the recent "is it going to be a patch or a full download" question comes immediately to mind). Better yet, if you're going to be using the skin try to catch up daily on all the new posts like most of us do. It's amazing what even experienced RR/DFX users can learn about features and solutions just by paying ongoing attention to the thread.

Sometimes it's better to be yelled at then to be ignored. At least you know someone's listening.

For the record, CDrip has always been problematic for everyone, and the old help file solutions for installation do not seem to me to be valid anymore, as 4.0 appears to be a major rewrite (which is a good thing!). I am sure there are others out there with a perfectly running cdrip in 4.0 , and was looking for peer help from those folks for assistance, as I have searched extensively, implemented the solutions I could find, and still no luck. I always search before i post a question. Unfortunately, I have yet to find another plugin that does the seamless rip function within RR or DFX, and I'm sure I'm only a few tweaks away from getting it work anyhow.

I love this skin and have no intention of switching to another, so I'm here to stay regardless.

well it just shows even the best still miss things and get things wrong, you spend all your free time , and sometimes you feel like but in the end its .
i always thought ,that this forum is all about helping each other, but latley across the board ,this has lost its path abit, so lets all have a and become friends again.
I'm just like the rest of you, i'm having problems with blue's DB but take some time and search and you will find your answer,or a clue to whats missing or wrong.

so john being scarey LOL... he's a big cuddly pussy cat , no member should ever be to post .

    Enjoy
