Hey John. I'm loving the new skin! Quick question...are you working with Mitch on his new updates with the radio codes in this thread?
I ask this because I just installed his updates and everything works great with your DFX4 (so far...that I've played with) except one problem...I no longer have a logo (static/spinning/compass/anything...I've tried a few) in the center of the main menus. I just get the gray box that is the semi transparent background over the wallpaper.
Any Ideas why this may be? Do you think it had anything to the older version of RR (11/07) that I had to go back to or is there a dll that I didn't register that I should have?
I have also posted in Mitch's forum in the link above to see if he can help out too.
Thanks for all the hard work!!!

You can't use DFX4.0 with anything but the most recent Road Runner. Mitch's version does not work. with DFX4.0
It does as of a few hours ago...

The skins for Map Point are very out dated, and I think only work with older versions, as some of the key commands and such were changed. Where do you live? (Its not in your profile)The Live View Radar works as follows:
1) If you set your Lat, Lon & zoom level in the ini, (DigitalFX 4.0\Scripts\WeatherLive\Settings.ini) it will center on that area and zoom level.
2) It gets your Lat & Lon from RR if #1 is not set.
3) If neither 1 or 2 are available, it will Start with it showing the entire US. (Sorry, Weather.com is not yet supporting radar overlays for over seas.
You can also set in the INI to ignore the GPS location, and use what you have set for your Lat and Lon in the ini.

Ok, someone was asking about a way to identify a song playing on the radio or what not, and I got to researching a little bit
I found a great little program called tunatic. (only 500k) It will "listen" to a song, and will tell you the name of the the song and the artist. In my tests here, I have not found a song that it does not identify correctly.
The audio source can be from your line in, wav line, mic, "What you hear" ect.. Whatever you have set as your recording device in windows sound panel.
I was voice chatting with BlueZX3, and asked him to play a kind of obscure song that was not that popular. I held my mic up to the speakers, and in a couple of seconds told him the name of the song and the artist
There is no API, shortcut keys, or COM interface to get the title of the song from the program, thus no way to save the song and artist to a text file. All I could do was just embedded it into the skin. This means you will have to remember the song name, or write it down.... I know... so old school, but currently no way around it. (you can always use the scribble pad in the skin for a more hi-tech approach to using pen and paper)
How it works:
With a live connection to the Internet, it can analyze the song on the spot by transfering the audio to their site to do the lookup.
As many do not have always on Internet in the car, me included, I put together a script that will allow you to save a sample wav file of what you are listening to to the hard drive. When you get to a hopspot, or at home, you can then select that sample in the list, play it, and it can then analyze it over the net. Unfortunately RR converts Underscores to spaces, and I can not use a hyphen, as thats how I pass command line parameters to the program. Thus, the name of the samples, as you will see below, look a bit funky. It basically the month, day, year, hour, minutes & seconds that it saves the sample name as.
Here is a screen cap of it in action. The one cool part of embedding it, is the line in the interface is an occiliscope that shows the audio it is listening to.

I live in ocala fl and work in gainesville fl
In that case I recommend iGuidance any day over Mappoint. It is much more touch screen friendly. Garmin is also pretty good now, but more complicated to use, as it does not have an on screen keyboard to enter address's and such.
Currently iGuidance embeds in RR seamlessly, as well as being able to lower the music volume when it speaks, and bring the GPS screen to the front when you are close to a turn, and going back to the screen you were on when you make the turn.
You may also want to keep an eye on THIS THREAD. We have CarPC meets in different locations all over the state of Florida every other month . Its a great way to see other peoples setups and get ideas, as well as a bunch of people that are willing to help work out the kinks and answer any questions.
