I will try that when I get home today. I believe that I installed the 9/10/08 release of RR but I have to make sure that the installation was successful. NOD32 deleted the file during installation thinking it was a virus, so had to disable the realtime scan and add RR to exclusion list. Did a reinstall and it seemed ok. How do I check on the version anyway?

Hey John, again another great skin. I updated from DFX3 to DFX4 and loving it. I also decided to switch from IG4 to Garmin Mobile PC (see how it performs vs. IG4).

A few issues that I had:

1. When I chose the Garmin GPS from the buttons selector, it would open the Garmin GPS skin but not launch the program. I think I fixed it by changing the menu.skin file to include external_gps.skin or something to that effect. This in turn launched Garmin. (I have to retrace my steps and repost)

2. Garmin was getting chopped off at the top where the directions were being displayed. I changed the Garmin_GPS.skin to reposition the window so that it would not get chopped off at the top. (I will repost the window coordinates when I get home from work if anyone is interested)

I have to see if I like it on widescreen mode. I was getting really used to the 1024x768 resolution. Right now, I am a happy camper! Yet again, great work John.

On a separate note - in DFX4, while in the player itself, if I tap the GPS button - what should happen ? Should it flick back to the original GPS program ( GMPC ) if it's already open ?

Cos mine isn't...

The GMPC should open in the window where the Album art goes. It is working for me but it overlaps the buttons on the right (Browser, Manage Playlist,....)

Hmmmmm. I though it should.

Running my screen @ 800x600 ATM. Works fine when I call it on it's own.......maybe i'll just not prod that button then. but it'd be nice to have it working properly

Mine had that issue at some point in time I believe. I have to check when I get out of work. On another note though, it might not work as well if you are running your resolution at 800x600, GMPC would probably take up the majority of your screen when you are in the audio player. I had to resize my screen to 1280x768 for it to look right-ish.

OK, i'll have a fiddle later on once xp has finished ( another ) security update and see if it makes any difference

Right or wrong, try this... in your skin.ini dfx4 folder, change GpsScreen=Garmin_GPS.skin

Then, in the main menu of dfx4, select and hold down the button for GPS, select iGuidance when the menu pop's up.

In RRConfig, set GPS Mode to external, GPS Path to <your Garmin Path here>\Que.exe and Window Name to Garmin Mobile PC.

Let me know if that works.

I reinstalled RR and now it works! Apparently the first install didnt take when NOD32 interrupted me. Awsome!
