When the command is recognized, the audio will resume.

Hooking up a button can be done in many different ways.

    - Jebus designed a Serial Port Plugin so you can hook a button to 2 wires on the serial port.
    - Use an available input on the Fusion Brain.
    - Use CDRSkull's JoyPad plugin to take any old USB game pad to add a button
    - Using RR's keytbl.ini, you can set a key on a keyboard, that when pushed will trigger it to listen.
    - Use a mouse/trackball and assign a button.
So this has to be a hardware button, or can you use an onscreen button?

You can do this without sending a key press to RR from girder. Simply have girder directly fire the RR command "RRVCON". This will tell RR directly to start listening, without having to send a key, receive the key and translate it into the command.

this is defined in the DFX Exectbl.ini:

    "RRVCON","SENDMSG;RRVoiceControl;RRVC_ON"

Even better, in girder if you can use SendMsg, then you should talk directly to the plugin and send the RRVC_ON command. That is what the exectbl line above does from RR.

Honestly, I do not know the exact difference. It has something to do with the way it is hooked to the PC somehow is all I know.

A Button in the skin can be used, but thats not really a good option. You would need to touch the screen to fire the command, and if you are doing so, could have just pressed the button you wanted for the most part.

Secondly, logistic wise, there is no just easy way in the skin to put a button on every single skin, to make it start listening. As every person will probably not use the plugin, putting a button on all skins would be a waste of screen real estate.

Being I have an automatic transmission, I am seriously thinking on putting a durable momentary switch on the drivers side left foot rest for the toggle. Much like the OLD cars had for turning on/off the high-beams. This way I do not even have to move my hands from the wheel to initiate it. (I do not have steering wheel controls).

My foot is resting there 90% of the time anyways while driving.

Well my car is manual, but due to the discovery that an ankle has limited flexibility in certain directions I have had to borrow the missus's Automatic (BMW E93).

Sounds like a goo Idea to me, it's funny our Fire Apparatus still have them, but none of them work

Check any emergency vehicle siren/light websites. They have tons of toggle/floor momentaries from the big old style metal ones to small discreet polymer ones.

Yikes E! Sprained or broken ankle?? I have broken both ankles at different times, and it is NO fun at all.....

Yea, I am looking for a "Polymer one" I guess, as I do not want a huge "Kaaa-CLICK!" every time I depress it LOL.

Wow, I am having fun with the voice recognition!!!!! And of course, I am stretching it's capabilities to the max hahah! The new themes are now also available by voice command. Simply say "Select theme 1" from anywhere in the skin and the wallpaper, font colors, Sliders, progress bars and such all change on the fly to what you have saved for theme 1. There are a total of 6 themes that can be customized & saved for later recall.

Say "Choose Chicago" to change the weather to that city, and then say "Weather Radar" to load up the weather radar centered on Chicago

I have a long way to go to get everything in the skin all voice recognition capable, but I am getting there!

Yeah I just sat in the car for an hour and fiddled with Girder, finally got my steering wheel controls to trigger RRVoice directly from girder like you said (thanks), and then I sat there and shouted commands at RR for another hour! It's like the first time I watched HD TV, it's just so new and exciting!

I gotta remove that "SELECT" pre command though.
