The joys of the most popular RR skin.
BTW: I perfer Tag & Rename myself.
ID3-Tag It... ok this isn't even related to John's skin. This deals with RR in general so you shouldn't be posting here. Will everyone please do some researching before posting. Its only been a little over a week since the release and we have over 400 posts. This is becoming what i call SR. Super Ridiculous.
The joys of the most popular RR skin.

I originally downloaded DFX 3 onto a test computer, everything opened fine. I saved the download onto a jump drive and then loaded in on my carpc. Set it up with RRConfig, my settings match above. When I click on the radio screen RR freezes instantly (second hand on clock stops) and never recovers (let it sit for an hour). When I try HD Radio, same thing happens except I hear the reciever click on and back off. This only happens in DFX, I downloaded LSXVoid to see it would work and I have no problems getting it to load HD Radio.
im exhausted of tips... like I said mine was pretty straight-forward so it might be a hardware issue, no idea really. If you set it up on one PC and got it working, but not on the other my first step would be to check things like Flash.. all the way to wiping the installation and trying from the start again.
John or anyone else who knows the answer,
I have traced my HD Radio problem to the radio player skin. What is the difference between the skin in 2.5 and 3? The reason I ask is after no luck with any of the other suggestions provided to fix RR locking up on the radio skin, I loaded the skin from 2.5 into the DFX 3 folder. And for the first time since I installed DFX 3, the skin finally opened and didnt look up RR. But I now the reciever wont turn on.
I know that the skin works for most users with HD Radio. For some reason the radio skin was either corrupt, missing something or looking for something I didnt have loaded, but using a previous version the skin now opens. So again the question is what is the difference between the radio skin in the two versions?
HD Radio support was not built-in to the 2.5 radio screen... that's why your radio is not powering on after you replaced that file.
I still think you need to dig deeper. If it worked on one PC but not the other you have something else going on.
Can you try running Task Manager to see what is using the most CPU at the time of the freeze-up? Check your event logs as well
I have a problem with xport.exe The splitter works fine, I put it into my startup map, but when I restart the computer it refuses to open up the ports automaticaly. I have to minimalize RR to tap in enable service. When I do that it gives me the error that xport is already installed :S Works fine after that.
Also, in the settings of my xport quicklaunch icon I force it to startup minimalized, but it doesn't do that either. .
